Wow. Responding to a topic 11 months later and still trying to 'shoe in' an anti Brit comment. Not sure if you are bored, sad or both.

Oh no, you'd mistaken me. It was a compliment. As you can see on my emoticons. Here again: 🤣🤗👍👏🙏

It's a strange idea, I know, and would involve men not thinking with their dicks for once ( so it may not be possible) but ..one easy way to find out is to use Google Translate and ask " How old are you?".

And you think young Thai prostitutes are stupid enough to tell a prospective customer they are under 18?

And of course, they are carrying older sister's ID.

Whenever you have to decide whether a bar girl is under 18, remember the famous quote by Robert De Niro's character in Ronin:

If  there's the slightest risk she's too young, say "No" fast and get the hell away from that bar.  The age of consent is irrelevant; Thailand has a specific law that makes it illegal to pay for sex with a person under 18.

The Thai law that forbids underage prostitution is based on the United Nations' Convention on the Rights of the Child, which defines "child" as any person under the age of 18.  The same definition is used in the U.N.'s Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography.  Thailand is a signatory nation of the Convention and the Protocol, so its domestic laws have to reflect the U.N. definition.

Under applicable  national law and international treaties, a girl of 17 is a child.  This clashes with the use of the word "child" in everyday speech because most of us don't think of a 17-year-old as a child.  However, that doesn't change the fact that paying her for sex is child prostitution under the law.

What does that even mean?

Absolutely nothing more than a comparison between your snide remark against the ever popular Brit fall guys and mine against you for your generalised disingenuous remarks.

we are not all kiddie fiddlers any more than other genuine people who come to Thailand looking to find love, it could be that Brit’s are not as secretive as other sad mentally dysfunctional individuals and therefore get easily caught, it does not mean that there are more brits than other sickies from other nations, even the  Thais have an imbedded kiddie fiddler contingent, so no one should infer blame on one nation only.

I do not under any circumstances condone pedophilia and my mindset points towards extermination given the level of horror that these child victims suffer for the rest of their lives, but no one has the mandate to blame just one nation for such evils.

You can't spot a 16yo from a 26yo? Thai women look 10% younger than their age so the 16yos would look 14yo.

That is not necessarily true. Most Thai girls look like children only when they are in school uniforms. There is not really a noticeable difference between a 16 year old and 26 year old that is outside wearing sexy clothes and drinking. Their bodies do not develop much more than they already are at 16. Also, unless you specifically asked age then you could be fooled easily to thinking the young girls are not young women.

Sad to say this is so but it is true.

If the bar or advertised their real age to the man or if the man specifically asked for underage girls, they could have easily passed as over 24 years old.

This could happen to any tourist in any city in Thailand.

Best to find yourself someone with some age marks haha... Rather than chancing that the sexy your woman sitting next to you might be underage.
