Popular Post webfact
A Porsche Panamera, estimated to be worth no less than 5 million baht, was found engulfed in flames after veering off the road and crashing into an electric pole at 1.40am this morning, in the Phlai Chumphon area of Phitsanulok. Police and rescue teams rushed to the accident scene only to find the driver missing. Upon arrival at the scene in Phlai Chumphon Subdistrict, Phitsanulok, emergency services encountered the white Porsche ablaze, with firefighters from the municipal office and volunteers from Prasat Boonsathan Foundation battling the fierce flames for approximately two hours before bringing the fire under control. Remarkably, there were no casualties or fatalities discovered. Thanakorn Tharariyo, a rescue worker from the Prasat Boonsathan Foundation, expressed his surprise upon finding no driver or passengers at the scene. He speculated that relatives might have taken the occupants for medical treatment before the team’s arrival. Furthermore, the collision caused a widespread power outage, which the electricity authority addressed subsequently. by Nattapong Westwood Photo courtesy of KhaoSod Full story: The Thaiger 2024-02-07 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post Georgealbert
Thought I would try to get in before the normal EV conspiracies start, like after almost every car fire reported in the forum. This is a front end impact fire caused by collision with the concrete post, probably at speed. I would expect alcohol was the main factor, hence no driver at the scene. The Porsche Panamera, does have a hybrid model, but the battery is in the rear/boot, the area undamaged in the photo. No idea why it is reported that it 2 hours to extinguish, as the fire damage for 2 hours burning seems very limited. I would question the equipment, training and water supply available, to the responders. 1 1 1
retarius
Seems cheap for a Porsche. $150,000 roughly, a 911 was that in the US when I was working over 18 years ago. I didn't know the Panamera was a cheaper car.Great the driver was using it to carry fertilizer. Lucky has wasn't killed.

The Panamera is not priced on the Porsche wed site, as I believe there is new models to be released March 2024. So would appear this was an older model. I missed that point in the poster’s original comment. Repeated it below for @retarius. Also Aluminum Phosphate is not flammable, but can give off toxic gases when exposed to fire. “In related news, a Thai driver transporting a dangerous chemical called aluminium phosphate, commonly used to eliminate agricultural pests, found himself in a precarious situation when his vehicle caught fire on January 4. The incident unfolded in Soi Porn Sawang 7, Samrong Nua Subdistrict, Samut Prakan. A rapid response by local fire crews and the Ruamkatanyu Foundation contained the situation, preventing a potential disaster.” Edited February 7 by Georgealbert
spidermike007
Very hard to feel sympathy or compassion toward a guy driving what I would consider to be a very ostentatious car, which is a desperate display of his status and wealth, and ends up crashing into a tree. The chances of it being a mechanical problem is probably less than 1%.

I've often found it is difficult to know what others are thinking. Mike, weren't you the one the other day, urging us all, rightly, to be more compassionate in a wonderful post? But, not sure my compassion extends to the so called hi-so here, whom I have found to be quite repulsive in their acts and behavior. I know many back in the US who are wealthy. They don't consider themselves special, or above the rest of us. The money based class structure here is rather repugnant.
