critical illness insurance anyone use?

Featured Replies

Hi folks, does anyone uses critical illness insurance policy?

Im interested to get the coverage for hefty fees for major illnesses.

ive been checking checkdi.com but seems the critical illness area seems to be not working.

Any old peeps out there got any good reco or any bad experiences with this policy if u would like to share to enlighten us all

If you already have a good health insurance policy, critical illness cover might be a worthwhile addition. The lump sum benefit could be used to cover the deductible or co-pay along with things that aren't covered by the health policy.

Without a health insurance policy, the critical illness by itself isn't very broad in cover and the lump sum benefits may not be adequate to address a serious illness.

For any insurance related stuff, it's worth talking to AAinsurance

They have access to all the major providers that operate in Thailand.

Good idea for access to the providers but there won't be an unbiased opinion/personal experience from them (or any other broker) on something they're selling, which I think is what the OP is looking for.

I've set many up, in my younger years.

Typically its to cover a mortgage debt and they come with 'free' life cover. The self employed liked them.

You specify an end date at inception, usually retirement age. They cannot be extended, not in UK anyway.

If you are over age 50, forget it. Not the right plan IMO.
