Five Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) overseas offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Kunming, Chengdu, and Guangzhou have collected tourism data as a result of the visa-exemption measure between Thailand and China, which came into effect on 1 March 2024.

According to the data, the People’s Daily Online, a major Chinese news agency, and the website Trip.com expect that by the end of 2024, Thai tourists to China could double, and Chinese tourists to Thailand could triple. The forecast is compared to the year 2019, prior to Covid-19.

In addition, Ctrip, a Chinese travel agency, elaborated that, since 1 March, the number of Chinese tourists purchasing trips to Thailand has increased by 30%, while the number of Thais traveling to China has risen by over three times.

Only those kung fu kicking Thai women 😉

Recently had a couple very pleasant conversations with a middle aged Chinese tourist staying in the same hotel .

he spoke English very well but showed a degree of limited vocabulary . However he did express disappointment in the current "mood" in mainland China . But nothing about him suggested any "devious/ deviant" motives  as suggested by many Chinaphobes . Certainly no more so than the devious/deviants of any other nationality so prolific in Thailand already.

Pigs will fly

if Thailand pays for their trip surely they will come, otherwise don't expect too many, they don't have extra/spare money to travel outside China.... as always wishful thinking from TAT

Strictly screen [Chinese] entering and leaving the Kingdom. This includes the consideration of applications for extensions of stay, visa stamping, and changes in visa status. All relevant laws, regulations, and orders must be strictly follow
Investigate and prosecute all crimes committed by [Chinese]. This includes violations of the Immigration Act, the Alien Employment Act, the Entertainment Places Act, illegal business operations, nominee arrangements where Thai nationals hold shares or real estate ownership on behalf of [Chinese] to avoid legal compliance. The behavior of [Chinese] should also be investigated to determine if they have any mafia-like influence. Cooperation with relevant agencies is required for integrated law enforcement.
Revoke the stay permits of [Chinese] who are found to be staying in the Kingdom without a legitimate reason or who have other behaviors that warrant the revocation of their permits. This should be done in accordance with the Immigration Act.

Dazzling. Quite worthless though since the reporting omits the actual numbers being percentaged and tripled.

Gotta do like the TAT and make up my own numbers: Chinese bookings have increased to over a trillion, while now there are 37 Thais travelling to China.

As ever The Thai tourist agency coming up with projected fanciful numbers

And as usual more wishful thinking then actually numbers

We will see end of 2024
