I've lost my desire to listen to music.

Not me. I started learning how to play an instrument (wish I had done it when I was young).

I hope to learn multi instruments before I die (but maybe I'm being overly optimistic).

And I like singing. I may even take voice lessons.

I try to find singers that I can mimic (tone not too high-pitched).

I knew a guy in high school who was imitating Robert Plant. Good luck with that. That's hard to emulate.

And people who attempt that usually end up screeching.

I do a half-ass Richard Hawley.

I ain't gonna sell tickets any time soon. But it's fun.

I like lyrics. It's basically playing with words.

the wind blows forward and the wind blows back

catch the first train smokin' and never look back

Even Robert Plant can't imitate Robert Plant nowadays. He says himself, "I used to be a rock singer - now I'm a singer."

The answer to this and all other things can be found in the Word of God:

Ecclesiastes 12:1 says: Remember your Creator in the days of your youth,
before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say,
“I find no pleasure in them”—

Listening to music is only one of the things that you will eventually lose your desire for!

I think the enjoyment comes and goes. Mostly I like reading books, but loose interest for a monthor two. Same with TV, movies and other entertainment. The mood comes and goes.

Mostly I like peace and quiet, or the sounds of nature.

Always been a music lover, had a big collection of both CD's and vinyl before I left Australia 14 years ago. Until recently used to listen to free music on apps like Radio Paradise, Jango and Accu radio, but now, at nearly 82 I find I prefer peace and quiet. Nothing wrong with my hearing, it's just that music doesn't move me like it used to. Sad.

Please go on the internet and look up original Blues and Jazz music.  You will enjoy.

Been there, done that. My tastes are varied, but all music has lost it's enjoyment for me.

I'm 87 and for the past 8 years or so I also rarely listen to music.  Once in a while, but not often.

I usually prefer quiet.

That is really sad.

I am 80 and prefer listening to my music a lot; in the car, while out exercising on my 30 - 45 minute - twice daily walks, on the beach, (when I'm there) and during long waiting periods. I alternate music with my Kindle which has about 700 books on it. Keeping up with the news, (but not getting upset about it), surfing the internet and gardening, developing new ideas about what to do - all help keep me feeling good!

Maybe try something a little different?

Music?  Maybe you just need to expand your horizons. Try  something different.  If you usually listen to rock, try jazz. Or classical.

I think everyone goes through phases.  Maybe it’s just a temporary thing. Don’t listen, if that makes you happy.  But at some point, you’ll want to listen again.

Im sort of like that with movies.  Sometimes, I’m just not in the mood. Other times, I can watch movies every day.

I quite often find new (for me) nice music through movies. If I watch a movie with nice soundracks/music I use to look up the songs after and learning to know for me new music and artists. The last movie I listened to like this was the feel good movie "Elisabethtown" just a couple of days ago with Clive Owen and Kirsten Dunst. I recommend it!
