Not pretending to be a saint in this department, but some tourists seem unaware that (the real) Thailand is in fact a quite conservative and traditional culture. If you get the urge then maybe try to do it out of sight and in a less public place..

And the numerous bars advertising Russian ladies are still open on Walking Street in Pattaya....no zooming required. The obvious  in plain sight ignored while people upgrade their zoom lenses? Personally, I could care less what consenting adults do at sea and I don't visit Russian bars on Walking street.

Way offshore doing it on a surfboard they must be in decent physical shape.

Last time I was at the beach I saw an older farang rolling around on a blanket with a younger Thai girl and it looked like a bull walrus smothering a helpless harbor seal.

Regardless, I don't want to see people having sex in public, mostly due to children seeing it and if it opens up too much I will have to witness obese whales getting jiggy. Nightmare fuel. Totally understand Thais not wanting to see that also. However being a balanced individual it needs to reminded this kind of thing is petty, especially in Thailand where if you know the country properly you know this is petty compared to what goes down.

What you are referring to is the informal meaning of the word. That has been created because people have made it popular, or a trend, of using the word that way. It was never the intention or the original meaning. Below you have the original meaning of the word, that still rules and are right.

adjective
sick (adjective) · sicker (comparative adjective) · sickest (superlative adjective)
  1. affected by physical or mental illness:
"nursing very sick children" · "half my staff were off sick" · "visiting the sick and the elderly"
    • relating to those who are ill:
"the company organized a sick fund for its workers"
    • (of an organization, system, or society) suffering from serious problems:
      "the British economy remains sick"
  2. feeling nauseous and wanting to vomit:
"he was starting to feel sick" · "Mark felt sick with fear"
    • (of an emotion) so intense as to cause one to feel unwell or nauseous:
"he had a sick fear of returning"

      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
However, I did not expect any other comment from you, as posts of this kind are your highest standard.

I do know what sick means , or what it used to mean .

I was just letting you know what the word means these days .

There was no need for you to be unpleasant towards me

What is it with foreigners thinking it's OK to have public sex in Thailand.  I'm sure it would probably be prison time in their home country.

....oh, they were chinese ?.......and here I am thinking the eejit tried to film to see if someone else's dick is large than his teeny one, can be no other reason to film something that one despises.............or he is Christian? Or Taliban? They have that habit too, the devil lurks in any type of fun....that others have. The land of the curtain hotels strikes again!

Actually this would be a misdemeanor at most, as the couple was that far from shore that they likely did not intentionally want to cause upset. In case this would have been right at the beach with many witnesses and intentional, still the likelihood of a financial fine (§ 119 OWiG).

Only in the most egregious and upsetting cases, with intention to cause upset, might there be one year of jail time (§ 183a StGB), but this is really unlikely.

Talking about Germany here, one of the more conservative western countries of the world. From what benighted place do you come that this would be prison time right away? Saudi Arabia?

Public indecency is only a 1000 baht fine here too. Seems its foreigner bashing times since the silly doctor.

the videographer had to zoom, and zoom, and zoom to get a clear shot of the couple.

How is this different than such a couple in a condo room of a 10 story building being observed through a window by a camera drone outside?

The couple were not within "public eye" contact.*

However, the video taper who posted the couple in social media did place without permission the couple's personal activities using electronic data into the public eye.

So if RTP is going to charge anyone, I suggest the video taper for violating at least the Personal Data Act.

* if the couple were directly personally observed 14 miles or greater off the coast, public eye contact wouldn't apply as that would be beyond Thailand’s territorial (aka sovereign) reach and thus beyond reach of Thailand's laws.

We can’t have fat foreign women getting a foothold in LOS. That’s what most of us ran away from. Let’s petition Human Rights groups to lobby on our behalf. Issue/deny visas on BMI basis as a start…

You've never had outdoor sex?

Seriously, even if caught unless it's in a schoolyard, slap on the wrist and you go in most western countries.

A widely shared video of two foreigners engaging in sexual activity on a surfboard off Karon Beach in Phuket has sparked intense debate online. The footage, which was shared on the Facebook page of Hot Jung Phuket, has already received over 13,000 reactions and almost 2,000 comments since it was posted yesterday evening.

The video elicited a variety of responses from the online community. While many initial comments humorously addressed the couple’s public display, others expressed stern disapproval of their actions. One comment was particularly biting.

“Foreign men, women don’t care about anyone. If you’re not interested in public places, in the middle of the sea, Karon Beach, go for it. It’s hot, you’ll get the first scoop!”

“Come visit Thailand and have money to do whatever you want to do.”

However, not everyone was scandalized by the couple’s actions. One individual pointed out that the couple wasn’t causing any harm.

“Not causing anyone any trouble, just pure happiness.”

Interestingly, one commentator highlighted the effort taken by the person recording the video to capture the couple’s actions, which were taking place far from the shore. As they pointed out, the videographer had to zoom, and zoom, and zoom to get a clear shot of the couple.

Despite the heated online discussion, local authorities and the police have so far refrained from commenting on the incident. As the debate continues to simmer online, it remains to be seen whether any official action will be taken in response to the controversial video or not.

In related news, Bangkok’s bustling city center became the scene of a significant police raid when police apprehended a 49 year old woman, the alleged organizer of plus-size women’s parties involving illicit activities.

The police operation, led by high-ranking officers from the Metropolitan Police of Thailand, resulted in the seizure of condoms, sex toys, and other items related to the sex trade.

Yes mate - I am one of the many who was wrong about the Junta - they never went this far and did things like this current mob are doing.

Just how many Thai people are there touring around and acting like wannabe paparazzi.

It seems like everyone wants to be the one to post a viral video of foreigners engaged in public sex and they’ll go to extreme lengths to do it.

There are moral standards that foreigners should observe. And then there are peeping Tom voyeurs who go beyond the norm to look for amateur porn.
