Why are their eyes blurred out in the photo? They are criminals, not children or victims of a crime.

Thai law.

Why have so many falang law breakers recently had their uncensored photos published all over the media?

The Swiss doctor kicker.

The Kiwi brothers who manhandled a cop.

The falang pooper in Bangkok Soi Nana.

I'm sure there are plenty of others.

Maybe they gave permission for the photos?

In his post, the owner pleaded with the women to come back and pay their bill, saying the staff in charge of their table would otherwise have to cover it

Not so nice boss.

That's the custom in Thailand. It sounds a bit draconian, but they are held responsible for their carelessness. That is why, often, someone will count the money several times in front of you in a shop or restaurant or bar. There are positives in that, I suppose. Teaches staff to be careful and being responsible in their job.

They do this in Canada too.

There's a lot of good, decent Chinese people.  Unfortunately, the bad ones catch the headlines and creates the prejudice against all.

Same reason why so many Thais think Brits are a lot of fat, pink, male pattern balding, drunken, whoremongers.

According to this place, all Thai and Chinese are reprehensible and all Anglos are fine citizens. Even the ones that take dumps in shrines

Were they pretty?  If you're pretty you don't have to pay. It's science.

I'm very pretty, but I always have to pay.

Staff should not be liable for runners…are establishments going to cover legal fees if the staff takes violence in stopping runners?

don’t shift the blame to poor staff for things beyond their control…you are the ones with deeper pockets and defend staff not abuse them

It's unfortunate when serving staff in restaurants are attending other patrons and a scum-bag does a runner and the staff are held accountable.

CCTV should be in every venue with notices letting patrons know it.

I agree. No real fault of the staff in this case.

Normal behaviour in thailand. This is why idiots don't understand waiter or waitress. Get very upset or violent about these things as they have to pay for it. Either out of their individual wages or combined staff tips.yes very wrong but tit.
