freeworld
The dentists doctors do their rounds at different clinics and hospitals, some even teach at universities. Not Pattaya but the dentist I see at Samitivej hospital is in full time attendance and she is booked up months in advance. Pattaya57
Calling a specialist on a Thursday and getting an appointment on Tuesday is pretty good I think. What were you expecting, same day booking? 1

Halfaboy
Had a problem with one of my teeth when in Nangrong (near Buriram). Went to the locsl6 dental smile clinic to make an appointment. Learned that there is no 'appointment system' (just wait for your turn). When looking around I counted (at least) 40 people in the waiting room.... You can take the bus from north pattaya bus station to bkk for only 140 baht. It's not that bad a trip, maybe 2 1/2 hrs. I actually started going there and coming back the same day for my dental work. It's not that bad. I get there, have my work done, then hit a bar for beers, then return via Ekkamai bus station which is right on the skytrain station. https://rrcticket.com/customer/ticket/SelectRoute/?lang=en_US&_=0.6876152099532564 Edited April 25 by JimTripper

You will need to pay more to get someone who knows what they are doing and save that tooth. Otherwise, you end up like one of those old guys in pattaya at the bar with missing teeth and some quack dentist thinking they know how to do implants. I thought that is standard treatment, that just about every dentist can perform. Implant specialists yes, but a standard root canal. In Thailand they won't say I don't know how to do it or I don't have the correct modern equipment. They will just try the best they can (like with old school files instead of the spray and microscope). Best case usually is they might make a benign excuse to not do it for some reason, or if you're lucky refer you to a specialist (Endodontist). Let us know what the endodontist said and did. brian2322
I made an appointment with the highly recommended dentist on Klang that I've been seeing for years. The appointment was 2 weeks out. When I arrived on time, there were 8 people in the waiting room, noone at reception, and 3 more people arrived in the 10 minutes I waited. Seems they had overbooked by quite a bit. I went to Pattaya memorial dental clinic, booked an appointment 5 days out, and was seen by the dentist at my appointment time. I think I'll stick with the hospital dental clinic moving forward. Not sure what the price difference is (paid 10k baht for a zirconia crown?), but I don't like waiting for an hour+ after my appointment time.

So its not a problem to compare. In the end its the quality that counts and if you are happy with the result.
