The World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) concludes that Asia, warming at an alarming rate, is the most affected region in the unfolding climate crisis, with forecasts predicting an increase in catastrophic events. WMO Chief Celeste Saulo warns that "the report's conclusions are sobering." The impacts of these climate changes, ranging from record-breaking heatwaves to consistent heavy rains, have severe effects on human lives, economies, and ecosystems. The 'State of the Climate in Asia 2023' report highlights worsening climate indicators and their grim outcomes. Asia continues to bear the brunt of these weather-related disasters, with floods and storms causing considerable loss of life and livelihoods. From the vanishing glaciers to the rising sea levels, and heatwaves encompassing areas from Siberia to Japan, Asia is teetering on the brink of a climate catastrophe. Floods have decimated communities and storms caused extensive destruction, resulting in the loss of over 2000 lives and displacing millions, according to TRT World. However, the WMO urges immediate action on reducing emissions and adapting to the climate changes. In a related development, northern Thailand anticipates a severe heatwave, with temperatures predicted to break previous records, reaching up to 44 degrees Celsius. The intense heatwave is due to a low-pressure area covering northern Thailand. Concurrently, the Ministry of Public Health highlighted the dangers of heatwaves after identifying 30 heatstroke-related deaths this year. -- 2024-04-26 Get our Daily Newsletter - Click HERE to subscribe 3 3

You don't understand that there are no natural forces causing the current warming. In fact, natural forces without all that pollution should be in a cooling trend. Solar output is down, but the planet keeps warming. The same rich people who seem to control your thinking about climate change are investing in electric cars and developing jets. And don't think some old rich guy with beach property cares that it may be submerged in 50 years. Look, I get it. Science was not your strongest subject in school. But just because you don't understand the science doesn't make it wrong. 4 2 1 1 2 2

With climate change creating more extreme weather events, insurance companies are forced to pay out larger claims, leading them to adjust premiums to maintain profitability. The rising costs of materials and construction also contribute to the uptick in insurance prices, as rebuilding expenses surge along with the overall inflation of the housing market. 2 1 1

Popular Post Danderman123 Posted April 26, 2024 Popular Post Posted April 26, 2024 Driving around Pattaya, it's obvious that the Songkran rains have not come, and the countryside is beginning to dry out. I suspect that there isn't a lot of irrigation infrastructure, so if it doesn't start raining soon, the hot weather is going to have dire consequences. This hot spell itself isn't proof of climate change, but if such weather becomes common, that would be as a result of climate change. Climate is what you expect, weather is what you get. I expect rain this time of year. Let's hope it comes in the next few weeks . 3 1
Popular Post Pesche Posted April 26, 2024 Popular Post Posted April 26, 2024 This is so stupid it hurts! While it is proven that there is NO Climate crisis (!) they still continue with DISINFORMATION! - Who?! The UN of course! And who else?! The WMO of sourse! With what purpose? To CONTINUE TO SCARE THE POPULATION with wrong/false information and statements! What is the meaning, the purpose of this "Fake New"? "However, the WMO urges immediate action on reducing emissions and adapting to the climate changes." This is so stupid it hurst! 3 1 2
