Popular Post Social Media
Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa.) is speaking out against what he calls "pup tents for Hamas" — referring to the encampment-style demonstrations that have sprung up in support of Palestine. In an interview on NewsNation’s “The Hill Sunday,” Fetterman didn't mince words, expressing his skepticism about the efficacy of these protests. While he acknowledges the American value of protest, he questions the wisdom of students setting up encampments in solidarity with Hamas, the militant group at the center of the Israel-Palestine conflict. The protests, which began at Columbia University and have since spread to campuses nationwide, demand a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas conflict and an end to U.S. military aid to Israel. However, their methods have sparked controversy, with some encampments leading to clashes with school authorities and police. Fetterman raises concerns about the presence of antisemitism within these protests. He points to instances of inflammatory rhetoric, such as a Columbia University student leader's comments about Zionists, which were condemned by the university and resulted in the student's ban. Fetterman sees these incidents as symptomatic of a larger problem of intolerance on college campuses. While acknowledging that many protesters are peaceful, Fetterman emphasizes the need to address safety concerns and combat antisemitic rhetoric. The recent uptick in antisemitism following Hamas's attacks on Israel underscores the urgency of addressing these issues. The senator's stance aligns with calls from a group of lawmakers urging Columbia University's president to take action amid the ongoing unrest. Fetterman, along with others, is demanding accountability from university leadership in maintaining a safe and inclusive campus environment. In response to accusations of antisemitism, protest groups have pushed back, arguing that their demonstrations are not inherently anti-Jewish but rather critical of Israeli government policies. However, Fetterman remains wary of the potential for hateful rhetoric to escalate and create an unsafe atmosphere for students. As the debate over campus protests rages on, Fetterman's outspoken criticism adds fuel to the fire. While he recognizes the right to protest, he cautions against actions that may inadvertently fuel division and hatred. In the midst of passionate activism, finding common ground and fostering constructive dialogue is more important than ever. 2024-04-30 Get our Daily Newsletter - Click HERE to subscribe 6
Popular Post Tug
I agree with this caveat no body likes to see people being chased around and killed by any military force anywhere in any country .the Palestinians must give up the hostages and the hammas criminals .the Israeli aren’t going to stop what hammas did is unforgivable especially with the history of the Jewish people unfortunately it is what it is and it sucks 2 1
Popular Post Hanaguma
Seems the good Senator is recovering nicely from his medical troubles, glad for him. Still think a Republican senator would have been better, given his prognosis at the time. Refreshing to see that he still maintains some of his more classic Democratic roots when discussing issues like Israel. 1 1
Popular Post JonnyF
Finally a Democrat speaking some sense. 😙 With Biden also adopting many Trump policies, are we seeing a shift in the loony left? Have they finally realized the massive over-reach on Woke issues that is alienating the electorate? Somehow, I suspect the date of November 5th is causing some sleepless nights for them and if they manage to fool the electorate again, normal (abnormal) service will be resumed on the 6th. 2
riclag
He still uses help translating spoken speech. He sugar coated the lefts attempted take over of major Universities by installing encampments and calling them pup tents from hamas, more like portable Caliphate centers , for advancement of Hate. Imop Welcome to the bidens train wreck ! Its a election year if their demands were met , they’ll find another excuse to protest & disrupt! imop Edited April 30 by riclag 2
Popular Post Jingthing
I agree with the good Senator. Most of the protesters are incredibly ignorant and are just joining as a trendy fashion statement. Sadly Jew hating is part of the fashion. Useful idiots for Hamas, Iran, and Putin.

Could his ethnicity/religion have anything to do with his opinion? It's unfortunate that some people are connecting all Jews with the Israel i Genocide. Calling most of the protesters ignorant is quite a bold statement.

Neeranam
7 minutes ago, Jingthing said: It isn't genocide. Rather irrational now to say that. Why has one of the most advanced armies in the world, with full financial and military support from the USA caused so much damage, some say 75% of homes in Gaza have been destroyed. It would sound just as irrational if you said there was no indiscriminate bombing, which even Biden admitted. Do you know this is a war crime or are you just pretending it isn't happening?
