Through meticulous inspection of the tuk-tuk's ownership and license number, authorities identified the driver and summoned him for questioning.

Amazing - fancy that...........being able to identify a Tuk Tuk owner through his license number, completely amazing.  Thailand - streets ahead again!

Whatever happened to "Whatever the market will bear?" Are the prices posted ANYWHERE? Let the buyer beware.

What happened is that’s got nothing to do with predatory and deceptive price gouging which targets vulnerable tourists who are unaware of typical average prices. Go back to school, and while your at it ask your parents for a refresher course in right and wrong  and general ethics

By my calculation, the guy's still 3,500 baht ahead, and I'd bet dollars to donuts he's back out plying the streets in his tuk-tuk by tomorrow.  At worst, maybe across town where they don't recognize him.

At the very least, they should have made him return the 6,000 baht.

And held his Tuk Tuk in impoundment for the 90-day suspension.

He doesn't need to drive his tuk tuk, one of his mates will  do it for him
