Pantsir-S1.

These are rare and expensive. There were some 200 produced, no idea how many are left.

Their principal usage is low altitude coverage, complementing the S-300/400 high altitude systems.

Latest updates on advances of Ukraine in Kursk and the slow Russian advance further south towards the important Ukrainian town of  Pokrovsk , the citizens of which place have been advised to evacuate. The Russians in this sector have actually been reinforced to push home the attack. This means that so far , mostly young conscripts are being sent north to try and blunt the Ukarainians advance.

Good maps showing the ground situation north and south :

The beginning of the video is the most interesting, in order to understand the objectives of the Ukraine army.

Which could explain why the Russians are falling back to a more defensible line. It's far easier to dig in and hold a line with raw troops, than a frontal assault.

True. plus with three bridges down in their rear the position on the original frontlines has become untenable for the Russians.

The river will also be easier for the Ukrainians to defend and is an indication that it will mark the limit of their incursion on the western side of the battlefield.  With a river at their front the new front line will be more defensible but not really much longer than the old so no need to employ their elite troops in that area.

I still think the plan will be to cut the supply lines, once better troops arrive. Without supplies, the Ukrainians will be unable to hold on. That is not a problem for the Russians as their supply lines can not be cut by the Ukrainian force in Kursk.

Ukrainian Paratroopers May Have Surrounded Russian Soldiers In Kursk

In assaulting Malya Loknya, the 95th Air Assault Brigade “bypassed our positions between this village and Russkiy Porechny, cut the road between them, and thus took units of the 18th Motor Rifle Division into an operational encirclement,” Podolyak claimed.

There is evidence the 95th Air Assault Brigade is in Malya Loknya. A Ukrainian drone tracked one of the brigade’s German-made Marder fighting vehicles firing on Russian positions in the village on Monday. “The enemy suffered significant losses in manpower, equipment and other material resources,” the Ukrainian air assault forces reported.

What happened to that red line taunted by Russia and its apologists on here..... What with Kursk and multiple attacks elsewhere in Russia it was obviously another lame ploy to deter Ukraine and its allies.

Moscow under attack: Air defenses shoot down killer drones over Russian capital

Kremlin says Ukraine carried out massive overnight assault across the country.

Ukraine has not yet commented on the latest major drone attack on Russia, but did say that its forces hit an S-300 anti-aircraft missile complex in Novoshakhtinsk in Rostov, but could not yet confirm if it was destroyed.

“It should be noted that the Russian invaders also use S-300 complexes for attacks on peaceful cities of Ukraine, destroying residential buildings and terrorizing the civilian population,” the Ukrainian army said in a statement Wednesday morning.
