Two groups of teenagers in Pattaya clashed early Sunday morning, resulting in a 19-year-old man getting shot in the leg.

On May 19th, 2024, at 2:00 AM, Banglamung Police Station received reports of a brawl between two rival teenage groups. Police officers rushed to the scene at the Charoensuk 4 Village and found a large group of Thai teenagers.

The injured person, identified as 19-year-old Mr. Natthaphon Chamlongraks, had sustained a gunshot wound to his right thigh and was rushed to Banglamung Hospital by his friends before authorities arrived.

According to Mr. P (alias), a 16-year-old friend of the victim, he and his group had been celebrating a friend’s birthday before deciding to go on a motorbike ride around Pattaya City. P claimed that his group fired a cap gun while passing by a rival group’s residence. In retaliation, the rival group allegedly fired three live rounds at them, one of which struck Mr. Natthaphon’s leg. P and his companions then rushed their injured friend to the hospital without waiting for police.

Well they asked for it, they got it. Raid the gangs, take the guns and detain the teenies into a boot camp for a weekend at least.👏

I've said before that Thailand must be one of the most dangerous countries in the world outside of a war zone. We all know to never, ever get into an argument with a Thai as the consequences could be catastrophic. And this week it hit close to home as some relatives came by on their way to seek help from my brother-in-law policeman after their son was savagely beaten by their neighbour. Why? Because smoke from burning some leaves in their garden drifted over to the neighbour's house. That was enough to arouse the neanderthal in him so round he came to express his displeasure with his fists. There is a very, very nasty undertone in this country with violence, often extreme, just below the surface of the land of smiles.

It is not safe anymore to be outside in Pattaya. This is becoming a common occurrence with groups of teens causing chaos and injuring people Thais and foreigners alike. Perhaps what is needed is for the Mayor and police to initiate a curfew for minors like they did in Phuket. And have the police arresting the minors and taking them home. It can not imagine the amount weapons to be found if that happened. It seems every teen now is equipped to kill or mame someone.

Not so safe at 0200. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. And just what did city hall expect: Beach Rd parking, All these happy sh*t events along that glorified Rd/promenade. They wanted more Thais in Pattaya to make up for losing quality high spending tourism. Well they are going to lose more and more . Be careful what you ask for- you might get it

When will this government introduce Mandatory sentencing for any kind of illigal gun use, registered or not, 2 years Minimum and on a 5 tier system as the UK. None of this 50% discount BS for pleading guilty.
