I have found out where my wife has to get her police clearance in BKK for the 47SP but I find as her sponsor, I also have to get a clearance for the 40SP form.

I am in Australia, where would I go, local cop shop or Federal Police? Can't find any reference to it on the Immigration website.

Must be some of you guys been down this road already.

Cheers,

Reg

In WA you can now get a national police clearance immediately from any police station that has a computer and printer. It's probably the same everywhere. Make sure you have your ID. I think it was about $40

Yes Doc, she is in Thailand. We know about where to get her clearances and medicals, that is all under control.

I will be coming there to BKK to help her process the application.

I am getting all relevent data together here, but I need a clearance check here also for the 40SP form, that was my question.

Also will be seeing CentreLink about AoS as they have taken it over now from Immigration, I have an appointment in about a week for that.

If the local cop shop can do it, that will save me a ###### of a lot of bother, because I am in the country, hours drive from the city.

What we have put together already, I hope it is enough :o

Reg,

When submitting your wifes copies of land title, thai Id, passport etc, they must be "certified" and translated(if in Thai) copies not just photo-copies that you have done yourself.

My fiance and I applied about 6 weeks ago and so far they have asked for,

1:Form 80, I think they asked for this because she has lived out of LOS for more than 2 years, but I would check to see if you need one because it does'nt say anywhere that you need it.

2:Certified copy of MY passport, not just a photocopy, it cost me 875TB at the consulate in BKK, and its nothing special!

3:Medical forms were sent to us very promptly, which we have had filled out and she has been proded and poked by the recomended doctor and said forms are already in Canberra.

You have plenty of supporting evidence by the sounds of it, keep us posted, cheers :o

To do both medicals and police clearance before putting in the visa application, and to phone or email for an appointment at AU Immigration in BKK at least 3 weeks ahead of time, morning appointments only.

All documents from AU to be certified by a JP or witnessed by a JP where neccessary.

All Thai documents to be translated into English, and the originals taken along as well, they will keep the copies and give originals back.

Write our statements of relationship, one by applicant other by sponsor, stating how we met, how long we have been in the relationship, how it developed, running of the household, sharing of finances, bla, bla, bla.....

Hope that helps someone out there,

Reg

The Thai police address is right on Reg. You will find that the AFP will do a fast and reasonable job for you. BTW that is an unusual request from Oz Immigration for a police clearance from the Australian sponsor. Raising the bar ?

I never saw an earlier copy of thge 40SP form Doc, so I don't know if it is something new or not.

Also, Assurance of Support is being handled by CentreLink, I got the application forms today.

Have to show the last two years income as shown on tax returns. If insufficient, there will be a bond to pay of $3,500 that is held for 30 months.

Have to also show proof of permanent residency in AU, certified copies of passport and certified copy of Australia Citizenship too. If Australian born, fully certified copy of birth certificate.

Gets better and better... :o

You'll breeze it in Reg, the only thing is its a time consuming process, and as doc said thats the police station we went to, leave youself a few hours, they like to take their time. :o

I've had quite a few conversations with Centrelink and Immigration today and you only have to do this AoS thing when you're actually told to. That is, unless you earn under $32000 or can't get anyone else to be assurer.
