Holiday expenses in Outer London Area

Featured Replies

I am not sure which forum to post this, mods please move if necessary.

My 16 year old grand daughter is going on a school trip to the London area in 2 weeks time. Accommodation in a college dorm., all meals and all educational excursions are included, so she only need some spending money. I have promised to provide this, but I am so out of touch with UK. (especially South of England prices) that I am unsure of how much to give her. I do not want to get into a bidding war (no my Grandpa is richer than yours scenario).

Advice please, from those members more in touch than I am. How much per day.

How long is she going to be there, are their activities arranged each anf everyday ?

10 days, but I was looking for a per diem figure. I believe she will be occupied with educational activities most of the time with a day or two free at the end. Thank for such a quick response.

Not much chance of getting stabbed if you not a gang member

Tell her NOT to use her phone in public or leave it laying around , phone snatching is quite common by thieves on bikes

In these circumstances it strikes me that the only significant expense with which she might be faced would be with a trip to a theme park (if that is her sort of thing). Please see the following link for info (including pricing details, although you might need to add extra to cover refreshments, transport costs, etc) relating to theme parks in the London area:

About 100 pounds per day would be very nice for a teenage girl, they like buying stuff.
