You read this story in English language media that specifically reports on events involving English speaking Westerners..what do you expect?  The Thai press is daily full of multitudes of Thai on Thai crime events.  Seems more people like yourself citing supposed racial issues.

Probably as it has no genuine relevance. People can pretend it has, some to make prejudiced or racial put-downs as so many on this site love to do, But it really hasn't. Thai media like to give lots of irrelevant information, even what a road accident victim was wearing, or the registration number of a vehicle involved in an accident.

That's a table from the CDC, the Centre for Disease Control in the US. A bizarre listing. I'm not sure what it purports to show. The number killed I guess. Not the number killing. That many many more blacks than whites are killed by gunfire in the US is a well known fact. I guess out in Montana it would be difficult to find a black man, let alone a white one. Most of firearm homicide occurs in cities and urban ghettos. But it seems whitey is adept at gunning down schoolchildren and innocent bystanders, shoppers and every day people. He accounts for 80 of the most recent mass shootings. Blacks, 26.

So what. The US names nationalities when it's appropriate. It depends on which media, on what the police report, and there are hundreds of both mainstream media and on youtube. Did you happen to notice that there are a great many differences between Thai and western cultures outside of this event, or has that escaped you? I happen understand  agree with the importance of distinguishing between crimes that Thai people commit and the ones committed by farang. On the other hand they blur out faces and often don't name full names. Readers can judge the stories on their merits. It's their country and their business how they conduct themselves.
