Use (Abuse) of Confused emotions?

Or possibly the thinking members ultimate finger at the posts not worthy of organizing thoughts, constructing an argument and producing a couple of sentences in writing.

If in that scenario the member was actually a thinking member, they would have simply moved on and not wasted their time! It's actually not mandatory to read, comment or tell the world what you think about everything.

  • Yes, though in the absence of a 'Thumbs down' dislike/disagree option then the Sad, LOL and Confused emoticons tend to get used as alternatives. I don't really understand why there isn't a thumbs down

  • If you were a teenage girl I would tell you not to worry about it dear.   Any grown man that worries about emotional stickers has a problem. The war veterans must be rolling in their graves.

You need to: (1) grow up (2) toughen up (3) grow a spine (4) stop confusing yourself   This is a website for grownups who don't throw hissy fits when someone disagrees wi

You do... why can't others do so as well... gives me something to do while I have my morning coffee.

I don't use emoji's and I only comment on tax these days, usually correcting statements that are incorrect or trying to inform others..

Yet here you are on this OP... not a tax OP... and judging by your total number of posts (6.5k) vs say my total number of posts (3.2k)... you are two times more likely to post than I am

Historically yes, but most because I  created the Introduction to Thai Tax  topic and have been deeply involved in helping members with Thai tax. Plus, I was a Moderator for seven months......as you well remember!

All you have to do is look at my posting history to confirm.

My point is... everyone should be openly allowed to post whatever they wish... an OP... an emoji... and even those abusive OPs by the serial and cereal posters...

We disagree, but that's OK

Can I ask why you are no longer a moderator..or would that be commenting on moderation 😋

The idea was that I would remain a moderator to see the tax threads stabilised and the tax guide drafted. I tried to get out at the three month mark but nobody was prepared to finish the work so I had to complete my tour. The moderator role is seriously hard work that requires a lot of time and effort, it's not how I want to spend my time but massive kudos to those who are prepared to do so.

Being a mod is the most ungrateful job, with no rewards

Is the confused emotion beneficial for the forum?

Pros and cons?

It may be beneficial.

But this does not mean that I am always confused about what it actually means.

The confused emoticon and the sad emoticon:

I really never know what these mean.

Maybe I should take a uni course in SEMIOTICS....

Oh, wait..

I already DID that.

And, I am still confused...

I did indeed, the job is very difficult and not the way I want to spend my retirement years, all credit to those that are able to.

I agree.

That is one very difficult job, for sure.

I have never used emoticons on TV.

Not because I have refused to use them.

It is only because I have never learned how.

Should my keyboard become inoperable,

Then I will learn how to use my mouse pointer to click on either sad, or confused.

I only know how to use the Thumbs Up button, I think.
