To DTV or not to DTV - that is the question.
I am in the same boat. I was using the METV but I found the extensions and border bounces and worry about travel dates to be a big hassle. The DTV eliminates all that even if I don't end up staying more than 60 days. -

Mayorkas says no more disaster funds but IG report says agency has billions
They got billions!🤔 Homeland Security Inspector General says agency has billions in untapped funds. “The report also says "$8.3 billion in unliquidated obligations" was "for disasters declared in 2012 or earlier" that analysts say could be returned to help people battling for survival in disasters” . https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/mayorkas-says-fema-has-no-more-disaster-funds-ig-report-says-agency-sitting-billions -

Boris Johnson Suggests Putin Would Have Avoided Invading Ukraine if Trump Were President
Nice how we have Boris to speak for Trump as Trump never bothers to explain just how he would have prevented the war. We know how Trump intends to end it in "24 hours". By accepting all Putin territorial claims and aggressions no matter how ludicrous or illegal. I thought Covid-19 may have delayed Putins plans but Condee Rice said it may have emboldened him. https://www.wkyc.com/article/news/politics/former-secretary-of-state-condoleezza-rice-covid-19-pandemic-influence-russian-president-vladimir-putin-invade-ukraine/95-3dbfff51-78cf-4654-b605-adb420eb3c88 -

Thai visa shake-up: Southeast Asia consulates switch to e-visa only
They can match it up with the stamps in your passport, so if you were to get a DTV from Cambodia your passport would need to have stamps showing you were there at the time it was issued. -

It is a completely bizarre thing known as truth and reality, ever heard of it? -

S/E Asian Thai Consulates going to eVisa online system effective Tuesday Oct 8th
The system was rolled out at the start of 2019, initially in China, and worked reasonably well. It was then rolled out in the UK and run into problems. I suspect that although the No of visas processed in China was large it may have been on a batch basis rather than individual. The system freezing problems in the UK gave it a bad name but they were resolved fairly quickly. I think France was next and most issues had been dealt with by then. My Non O applications since 2021 have been very straightforward, last year got the visa in about 50 hours. -

British National Killed in Sattahip Motorcycle Accident
No place for a big bike in Thailand. Too fast for the road conditions and adherance to the road rules by others. My last big bike was an FZR1000 in 1988. Would still do 160mph (257kph) even for an old bike then. I'm happy these days with my ADV150 at 118kph maximum. The freedom feeling on a bike is incredible, but sadly he found perpetual freedom. RIP the big biker. -

Trump lost the respect of veterans – including me. He's a risk to our democracy.
Sorry to say but you could not possibly be demonstrating a higher level of ignorance, of what the reality is on the ground. I am a centrist Democrat and nearly everybody I know who is a Democrat is centrist and is rejecting the progressive left. So there you go. I'm sure as a maga supporter you're going to say that I don't have a big enough sample to make a judgment, but my life is the litmus test, and if virtually everybody I know who is a Democrat is moderate, that tells me a lot. And it tells me you have no idea whatsoever what you're talking about. -

How to deal with a conflict with monkeys?
Stay away from the monkeys. "I tried to shoo it away to get off my scooter without showing aggression" shoo it away is a form of aggression for the monkey. -

Hundreds of customers test positive for drugs in raid on Pattaya pub
Not true that farangs are not tested. There was a checkpoint on the highway south of Phetchaburi towards Hua Hin in 2020. They were stopping a huge number of drivers (both directions). I know this, because it was the one, and only time I've ever been tested. A clean living farang driving my GF in her Prachuap registered car. They only tested me and not her. Pulled over, questioned, directed to the sala to collect the piss cup. Sent to the screened urinals and then back to the sala where the pee was dripped into the test kits. Exact location here. -

Can you imagine eating the fish from a Thai canal, let alone intentionally swimming in one?
