Popular Post webfact
Pattaya — On June 28th, 2024, Pattaya police convened with motorbike taxi drivers, both traditional and app-based, to discuss road safety. The meeting, which took place at the Baron Beach Hotel, was chaired by Pol. Col. Patikorn Sornchai, Deputy Police Commander of Chonburi Province, under the “Road Safety Improvement Project” spearheaded by the Royal Thai Police. The initiative aimed to instill traffic discipline among motorcycle drivers, particularly motorbike taxi drivers commonly known as “Win” and app-based drivers in Pattaya. The meeting’s morning sessions focused on informing the drivers of accident statistics and traffic law enforcement guidelines, while the afternoon session involved group discussions for both types of drivers. Popular Post J Branche
Meanwhile over here in Pratamnak our Motorbike Taxi man has had so few customers he couldn't afford a 2000 baht a month room and is sleeping on the streets. Tough life for some of these guys who do Not have a partner contributing to the household income. 2
Popular Post Gsxrnz
It's a world-wide phenomenon that taxi drivers/riders are those least suitable to be drivers. They have no other marketable skillset, and so default to lowest common denominator of taxi driver. In years gone buy they would have normally defaulted to becoming farm labourers, ditch diggers, gas lamp lighters, leech collectors, or army cannon fodder. It's the same with politicians of all flavors. Anybody seeking power is more than likely the least desirable person to be given power. Therein lies the core problem with democracy. We'd all have better governance if our leaders were randomly selected from a phonebook, if phonebooks still existed. 1 1

So many are just morons and crooked, greedy and immoral! Edited Sunday at 11:56 PM by jacko45k 1

On the other side of the coin the same can be said of police. Instead of lecturing drivers imagine the impact on road deaths these police would have if they took to the streets and enforced traffic laws. Pattaya police are photo-cops who only emerge when a camera is brandished.

Looks like the Win riders got their way on the meeting as well. Find it hard to see any other drivers.

Emdog Posted yesterday at 04:00 AM Share Posted yesterday at 04:00 AM crosswalk 2nd rd Jomtien near my condo. Perhaps 2/3's of vehicles stop (such a high number!) I have never seen a mototaxi driver stop or even slow down at the lit crosswalks here Maybe cops should go over drivers manual page by page? AustinRacing Posted yesterday at 08:31 AM Share Posted yesterday at 08:31 AM … and the evening session involved Win guys handing out their monthly brown envelopes to police.
CanadaSam Posted yesterday at 12:03 PM Share Posted yesterday at 12:03 PM I don't see a single "thuggish" looking win driver there, you know, the type that beat up falangs for the slightest reason. I see old men and young women etc., the ones that don't need a lesson on how to behave, methinks. The cops invited the wrong crowd!
