How busy is Jomtien Immigration at the moment?

Also, how early can I renew my retirement extension? It's not due until the 26th but I believe Jomtien office is closed for a couple of days around then. Could I do it this week?

I just renewed my retirement extension 15 days early, it was due on the 18th 2024 it came back stamped with the same next renewal of 18th 2025.

I believe you can renew 30 days in advance.

Go to the new document checking area on the left with zig zag walkway tapes, no one else there. the girl checked all papers and copies in order and gave me a number.

At this point they give you a new paper that I had not seen before, it covers the conditions and penalties of staying in the Kingdom, sit down outside on the bench outside and sign it, then go straight into the main office.

Checked the number screens, number is up there so straight to the desk which is still in the same place.

Four officers on duty now behind glass screens, all dressed in very smart blue shirts, I went to the first one on the left.

Took him maybe 10 minutes to sort through everything and hand me a plastic number to pick up the next day.

Total time from walking in to walking out maybe 15 minutes only, very impressed with what they have done, its almost a pleasure to go there now.

Hope this helps you 🙂

Thanks. Are the requirements the same for paperwork?

Yes they are the same, I always go to the photocopy office with everything and they do what is needed and check I filled the form out correctly.

I edited my post above to include the new paper they give you about the conditions and penalties for staying in Thailand.

My wife copied her ID for them as well, I think that's something to do with the house owner and the TM30

30 days in advance is usual. Here I always go 29 to 28 days before.

Immigration will be closed on Monday 22nd only.

Sat 20/21/22 long weekend with terrible traffic, marathon etc.

In 14 years I don't believe I have ever filled out a TM30. I give them a copy of the house book and my parters ID and that's it.

Before anyone complains.
There is another closure in July, Monday 29th.
