Pattaya Business Owner dead!! The poor man living the dream with his wife and slaughter by a random person. Id like to know the motive for there murder im sure it will come out in future days.

"Phan suspected that the couple’s Burmese employee, 21 year old Min, was the murderer. He anticipated that the conflict might be related to the late salary payment or physical punishment as the Iranian man usually beat Min for being slow at work."

Maybe not so random.

According my observation on the treatment burmese "labor" by thai employers at factories (rather workshops as they were not actually employed) it was very ugly. They treated them like a livestock, subhumans, very disrespectful.

Not at all "random" as you'd know if you'd bothered to read the articles.

It might be terrorism related. Maybe he was Iranian terrorist with some ties.

As there was no suggestion of that, whatsoever, it is likely that he wasn't a terrorist "with ties" [sic].

Ah, that well known Iranian hospitality...

Well I wouldn't know about that and of course that is an unproven accusation.

I can only say that in my experience he was very sweet and welcoming.

I wouldn't travel to Iran as their government freaks me out but travellers there often report exceptional hospitality from everyday people even tp westerners.

Human beings are complex of course. It's not shocking at all for people to have different sides including dark sides.

Of course I get it. If it's true the employee was not paid and was being abused the motivation is obvious. I don't think it excuses murder though.

For over 10 years we were in war with them and were bombing them and you think now one of these guys arrives just to open a restaurant here? 🤔 Seems fishy to me.

I walked right past that restaurant just 1 hour ago as I went to Tukcom, and the restaurant is open for business!  Very strange.

Thanaporn’s relative, Phan, revealed to Channel 7 that he dreamt about Thanaporn. In the dream, Thanaporn asked him for help saying she could not get out of her restaurant. He came to check on her at the place and found it was locked.

Unable to contact Thanaporn, Phan sought help from Mueang Pattaya Police Station officers to force entry into the restaurant leading to the discovery of their dead bodies.

Phan suspected that the couple’s Burmese employee, 21 year old Min, was the murderer. He anticipated that the conflict might be related to the late salary payment or physical punishment as the Iranian man usually beat Min for being slow at work.

Gotta say, Phan looks just as good a suspect as the Burmese guy.

If I was Burmese and happened upon my bosses' dead bodies, I'd be looking for the nearest border, too.  Guilty or innocent.  That's evidence of being scared, not necessarily being guilty.

Of course, I don't claim to know what actually happened.  Nor do I think we'll ever know, really.  Usually, the story drops out of the news cycle.  And even if it doesn't, the official proclamations are often not credible.

A hammer was found nearby and could be used as evidence mm covered in blood and his head caved in is likely strong evidence.

Ya think?

You sure it's the same place?

There's another usually busy Iranian place nearby (where I go sometimes).

I'm pretty sure there are quite a few Iranians who only want to live in peace and not get involved in warfare.

Definitely!

Obviously he demanded salary and they refused and probably offended him. Working in abusive condition under some 64 years old Iranian dude and his obnoxious thai tilak.

I don't have a second thought - they treated him like <deleted> and they got their "reward".

Not a very nice way of suggesting what happened, but could be very true. Some foreign workers, Cambodian and Burmese especially are very much exploited in Thailand.  I’ve seen a few workers living conditions in my time, Kata Beach Phuket opposite the Club med where I took clothes , milk etc. Patong , right behind Junk’Ceylon, and Pattaya . Often no running water or individual electricity and horrible living conditions, and all for earning a pittance ! When I hear stories like the one above it doesn’t surprise me, and no, I don’t condone the persons actions or any type of violence. Foreign workers have absolutely no rights in Thailand as we have seen many times in the past. ( the Fishery slaves, Koh Tao , etc ).

Foreign workers have the same rights as Thai workers and the Thai Labour law is pretty good.

If you work illegally, then you could have problems.
