I have to say the One Drive thing is handy.

It does not help me I backed up everything on disc only to find out my new laptop has not got one.

Best you Bingle it for expert opinions. I have three PCs all running W11, all regular updates when Mr Gates tells it to. No problems whatsoever. You topic should be Ányone NOT using W11' and WHY

  • I found W11 had a giant leap in functionality and has a new look and feel, which requires a little bit of a learning curve.   I found A1 Co-pilot held my hand and sorted out any of my change

  • i am with Windows from Windows 95 and will never change, no Mac or Linux a few days ago I changed win 10 to win 11, very easy, not much difference with Win 10 safe, no danger ... I am not a

So get an external USB disk reader, then send all your data upstairs.

I had to upgrade to Win11 when my foreign ID and Banking stopped to work.

It's not good, it's asking to update security and other updates every 4th or 6th day...

As noted pdf is gone too. And who knows what more.

No choice, gotta try to cope.

If it was up to me I still would be using 95SE or Win 7 PRO - two the bests ever 🙂

I've been backing up all C-drives to Western Digital external drive for 15 years. Cheap and works fine.

I also have current banking and other most important on USB stick.

I don't trust any "cloud" services. They suck you in for "free" service and then make it to pay-to-play, like Google did that with photos.

Plus: More and more major security break-ins are coming...

I think we can file this under 'very unlikely scenario'. Which bank has forced you to upgrade to Windows 11?

Yeah, I have 365, US$99 a year for five.

I need to buy a new laptop at the moment I am using Windows 10. Now most new laptops have Windows 11. Is there a big different in operation? I am not a computer geek so Windows 11 will be new for me so what is the main different?

I am running Windows 10 because that's what came installed on the PC.   Windows 11 looks horrible even at the start,  the desktop design looks awful,  I like the Windows 10 and I run classic shell so I can see desktop icons.

I do not like Ubuntu, and only tested in once about a decade ago, or maybe 6 years in the past.

You are in a bubble. I owned and Audi 5 in 1985.  It was crap.

Ten years later, Audi wasn't crap.

I would be happy to have an Audi.

Better to get rid of all automobiles...IMHO....whether or not they might be AUDI.

Autos do nothing but contribute to rampant Global Warming.

Thankfully, I am no longer one of these pernicious polluters, riding around in an internal combustion machine.

Sorry....

Not sure your meaning.

Your list of WHAT is growing.....?

Your shopping list?

NOTE4:  I am EXTREMELY happy with the replacement for Windows 11...which is.....OpenSUSE 15.6.  Works GREAT!
