I hear many different narratives from people as to why many Thai women desire to marry foreign men. The most common one I hear about is for purposes financial security. Others will say it is because Thai men treat them so poorly. I realize there are also millions of Thai women who aren't interested in foreign men. But it seems millions are and is there a chance they are simply attracted to something opposite to what they are familiar with? Is it perhaps they find foreign men attractive? Is it sexually driven in any way? Is it because they want to give birth to mixed race children? Or is it all of the above? In your opinion, what is the main attraction for Thai women to foreign men?

I cannot speak for all Thai ladies obviously but mine thinks I,m the most hansum man she has ever seen.....

Women are attracted by power, looks, intelligence and money.

 

A Thai woman in a rural village would struggle to earn more than 4000 baht/month. IIRC a 7/11 worker earns about 9000 baht/month.

 

Most Western pensioners get 50,000 to 60,000 baht/month, without including any saved capital.

One sided myth promulgated by bar girls to tug at 'white-knight' heart strings of gullible marks. Level of marital contentment in Thailand is likely higher than in many Western countries.

 

I realize there are also millions of Thai women who aren't interested in foreign men. True for the vast vast majority of Thai women.

Sure. Opposites attract. There is also a perception that foreign men are over-eager sexually and easily exploited financially which tilts the risk-reward equation in favor of being receptive to any overtures they might receive.

 

Is it perhaps they find foreign men attractive? Pop idols, movie stars, celebrities, athletes, sure. But this does not apply to vast majority of middle-aged sex-tourists/expats.

 

Is it sexually driven in any way? Let me put it this way: I don't think Thai women are as focused on male penis size as some posters on this forum seem to believe they are. You  read on this forum from time to time that Thai men suffer from penis envy over foreign men and that once a Thai woman has experienced  sex with a foreign man there is no going back to Thai men. As near as I can tell this is little more than on-line braggadocios self-flattery with little basis in truth.

 

Is it because they want to give birth to mixed race children? Towards the goal of giving birth to the next Miss Thailand? Rarely is this the case. The urge to have children with a foreign man is more often driven by the believe that bearing a child for the husband is a wifely duty,  the hope that this will make the man more committed to the relationship, or an awareness that offspring can sometimes qualify for generous welfare stipends from overseas in the event of the death of the foreign spouse. The idea that foreigners are seen as genetic winning lottery tickets is delusional. And the proof is in the fact that if this were the case, Thai men would be eagerly pursuing foreign women which is not the case.

 

What is the main attraction for Thai women to foreign men?

From my observation the qualities that Thai women most value in foreign men are a generous nature (and I don't mean that facetiously), being easy going and accommodating, a good sense of humor and sunny disposition. It is also my observation that Thai women do not like foreign men who are overly dependent on her for companionship or as a conversation partner, overly analytical, overly talkative, overly opinionated or overly controlling. And, no, I am not talking from personal experience, but rather from observation of dozens and dozens of Thai-Thai couples and Thai-foreign couples I have observed over the years in my village/town.

He/She havent given any details about who he/she/ is, so why you speculate about the upbringing in such violent abusing way. Fiction at its best.

Kindness and future predictablity goes a long way to win a womans hearth in Thailand, the same the other way pluss 40 years younger, daily bj, less than 50kg and new in town is often enough to win a mans hearth

Totally agree. Unless a man has a micro penis, penis size is usually the least important aspect about sex for women. They are far more focused on whether the man provides them pleasure, doesn't hurt them (with a large penis), has good technique, is responsive to their sexual needs, is willing to explore their sexuality, is not selfish in bed, attempts to please them, etc.

Setting aside, the dirt poor woman young enough to be his daughter/granddaughter thing, I think we've done that scenario to death, there is a certain attraction of opposites.

 

I always look at San Francisco where I used to live. Walk down the street and probably 50% of the couples you see will be white male with some version of asian female.

 

Now obviously thats not a financial thing for most of them, but just some weird attraction thing. Same thing why are so many white women attracted to black guys?

 

So if you set aside the money, young woman old guy thing, and Yes, there are some of us married to Thai women our own age, I think it is just some evolutionary trick nature plays on us
