Popular Post Social Media Posted July 24, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 24, 2024 History is watching us, and we stand at a pivotal moment. President Biden's recent decision to end his campaign stands as one of the purest acts of patriotism I have witnessed. This move should serve as a rallying cry for us all to continue his fight for the soul of our nation. The upcoming 15 weeks will be unlike anything we've experienced politically, but rest assured: this is a race the Democrats can and must win. Mr. Biden has done something incredibly difficult and rare. Serving as president was his lifelong dream, and when he finally achieved it, he excelled in the role. To step down and pass the baton, accepting that finishing the job meant giving it to another, took real moral clarity. The country mattered more. As someone who shared that dream and had to reconcile with letting it go, I understand the magnitude of this decision. It was not easy, but it was the right thing to do. Elections are inherently about the future. This is why I am particularly excited about Vice President Kamala Harris. She represents a fresh start for American politics and offers a hopeful, unifying vision. She is talented, experienced, and ready to be president. I am confident she can defeat Donald Trump. The choice in this election is now even more distinct. On one side, we have a convicted criminal who only cares about himself and seeks to roll back our rights and progress. On the other, we have a savvy former prosecutor and successful vice president who embodies our belief that America's best days are still ahead. It's a battle between old grievances and new solutions. Ms. Harris's record and character will inevitably be distorted by a flood of disinformation and the kind of ugly prejudice we've already seen from MAGA supporters. She and her campaign will need to cut through the noise, and we as voters must be thoughtful about what we read, believe, and share. I know a thing or two about the challenges strong women candidates face in American politics, dealing with sexism and double standards. I've been called a witch, a “nasty woman,” and worse. I was even burned in effigy. As a candidate, I sometimes avoided talking about making history because I wasn’t sure voters were ready for that. I wasn’t running to break a barrier; I was running because I believed I was the most qualified for the job. While it still pains me that I couldn’t break that highest, hardest glass ceiling, I take pride in my two presidential campaigns for normalizing the idea of a woman at the top of the ticket. Ms. Harris will face additional challenges as the first Black and South Asian woman to be at the top of a major party’s ticket. That reality is undeniable, but we must not fear it. Believing that progress is impossible is a trap. Remember, I won the national popular vote by nearly three million in 2016, and it wasn’t long ago that Americans overwhelmingly elected our first Black president. As seen in the 2022 midterms, abortion bans and attacks on democracy are galvanizing women voters like never before. With Ms. Harris leading the way, this movement could become an unstoppable wave. There is limited time to organize the campaign on her behalf, but recent victories by the Labour Party in Britain and a broad left-wing coalition in France show that it’s possible even with less time. Ms. Harris must reach out to voters who have been skeptical of Democrats and mobilize young voters who need convincing. She can run on a strong record and ambitious plans to reduce costs for families, enact common-sense gun safety laws, and restore and protect our rights and freedoms. She has a compelling story about the accomplishments of this administration. Under the leadership of Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris, America staged a remarkable comeback after Mr. Trump mismanaged the pandemic and left the economy in shambles. Together, they created more than 15 million jobs, and unemployment is near a 50-year low. When global inflation spiked, many economists predicted a painful recession with major job losses would be the only solution. However, Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris kept Americans working as inflation decreased towards normal levels and real incomes for working people rose. Despite many declaring bipartisanship dead, Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris managed to bring Republicans and Democrats together to pass major legislation on infrastructure, clean energy, microchips, and national security. From drug prices to student debt, they’ve delivered results that have strengthened the country and improved lives. Ms. Harris is often underestimated, as are many women in politics, but she is well-prepared for this moment. As a prosecutor and attorney general in California, she took on drug traffickers, polluters, and predatory lenders. As a U.S. senator, she rigorously questioned Trump administration officials and nominees, demonstrating her strength and capability. As vice president, she has been present in the Situation Room with the president, assisting in making the toughest decisions a leader can face. When the extremist Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, she emerged as the administration’s most passionate and effective advocate for restoring women’s reproductive rights. I look forward to seeing her present a compelling case against Mr. Trump, who failed as a president and is now running on an even more dangerous agenda. A second Trump term would be far worse than the first. His plans are more extreme, he is more unhinged, and the guardrails that once restrained his worst instincts are gone. Ms. Harris can explain to the American people that under Mr. Trump, inflation would surge again due to his proposed across-the-board tariffs, sweeping tax cuts for the rich, and mass deportations. The policies outlined by Mr. Trump’s allies in Project 2025, from further restricting abortion rights to dismantling the Department of Education, are a recipe for a weaker, poorer, more divided America. Ms. Harris's law enforcement experience gives her the credibility to rebut Mr. Trump’s falsehoods about crime and immigration. The facts are on her side: after spiking under Mr. Trump, the murder rate is plummeting under the Biden-Harris administration. Illegal border crossings are also decreasing rapidly, now the lowest they’ve been since 2020, partly due to Mr. Biden’s recent executive order. We would be making even more progress if Mr. Trump hadn’t sabotaged a bipartisan immigration compromise in Congress for his own selfish political purposes. As a friend and supporter of Mr. Biden, this is a bittersweet moment for me. He is a wise and decent man who served our country well. We have lost our standard-bearer and will miss his steady leadership, deep empathy, and fighting spirit. Yet we have gained much as well: a new champion, an invigorated campaign, and a renewed sense of purpose. The time for hand-wringing is over. Now it’s time to organize, mobilize, and win. Popular Post Walker88 Posted July 25, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 25, 2024 The racist and misogynist attacks are in full swing. Quel surprise! Nothing scares a mediocre while male full of entitlement more than a competent female or a competent minority. The silly attacks from the right are already energizing the electorate. Turnout among women, now fully aware the felon is proud of taking away their rights (JD has said no exception for abortion, not even rape and incest, and that women should stay in abusive marriages, even if hubby beats them) will be huge. Turnout among disenfranchised minorities will be huge. Turnout among the young, who see an energetic and knowledgeable women vs an ancient, dottering, vindictive Narcissist, will be huge. The old white dinosaurs think they are entitled to the front of the bus simply because they're white men (this is what maga really means, as if there was some idyllic white supremacist period of US history). Well guess what? No more guaranteed privilege. Whitey is not a victim, so stop whining like your fake messiah felon, and learn to compete. If these whining whities had real talent, they would relish the competition that would bring it out, but they know they lack talent. They need privilege. I am reminded of the basketball legend Larry Bird. He was having a heck of a game, and he went to Charles Barkley on the opposing team and said, "You guys are disrespecting me. You put a white guy on me." That is trash talk, for sure, but it comes from a man who welcomed competition, because it allowed him to bring out his full scope of talent and skills. The whining whities can learn from Larry Legend. 1 1 2 2 4 1

Popular Post spidermike007 Posted July 25, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 25, 2024 I am a Democrat but I'm not a Harris fan and I would prefer to see somebody else, however I would pick Miley Cyrus over Trump. I would pick Pauly Shore over Trump. I would pick Shia LaBeouf over Trump. Anyone but Trump. However his pic of JD Vance as VP was a wet dream for most Democrats, he's now running at a negative 6% in polling, and I think it's only going to get worse. The man is an empty suit, he has zero charisma, and very little to say. Picking him was a monumental mistake by Trump, and listening to anything that his offspring has to say is always going to backfire. They are all subpar intellects, just like he is. 1 2 2
