The Bbqhut On Ratuthid Rd. In Patong, Is It Still Open..?

hi friends, i used to live in Patong a few years back and will be visiting again soon, but am having a lot of trouble contacting all of my long-lost friends on their mobile phones... was there some sort of shakeup w/ the mobilephone services in Phuket that forced many to change their numbers? the only lines i can get through on are known landlines, and literally 30+ of my friends who all had mobile phones all give a msg about "this number is disconnected" or "this number is not in service", quite disconcerting!

but to the subject of my thread, i was hoping some Patong regulars might be able to tell me whether the BBQhut restaurant is still open and in business? owned by really old friends of mine but no luck finding a working number anywhere online nor in the Phuket business directory. if anyone who knows would be kind enough to reply in would be greatly appreciated, thx in advance friends..!

BBQ Hut is still there. But the owner is never there so the wife takes care of the business. Not good ribs anymore. Dry and somewhat stale. Owner needs to show up more often and re-teach the smoking technique.

Great fried ice cream!

Well Newbie Sukatoro's one and only posting has been given the benefit of responses by the good people at TV but he seems to have lost his way back to this thread... :o

Thanks for responding Sukatoro - my concern at your absence was unnecessary. Unfortunately, we can sometimes tend to get frustrated by new members who post once and then vanish - so my apologies for pre-judging you. I am glad that LivinginKata's advice was helpful to you - he is a regular contributor of excellent advice and information to Thaivisa.

Now that you have familiarised yourself with Thaivisa, I hope you take the opportunity of becoming a 'regular'.

Regards - Ping :o

Edit: typo

i hardly call posting a topic and returning just 15 or so hours later vanishing!

anyway, im glad you found your friends. i was going to post a reply re the '8' but LivinginKata beat me (and many others, i assume) to it.

feel free to drop in any time. we dont bite.
