DTV visa extension
Agree. I’m on a DTV and it feels far too easy! I would expect 500k in bank and then either: - 5 year visa for remote working with proof of minimum income Or - 1 year visa for soft power with no proof of income I’ve said on a few threads that 500k wouldn’t last very long if you don’t have an income (e.g. gap year student, made redundant, etc.). If you come with no income and only 500k in bank but decide you want to stay longer than originally planned, this is where people will be tempted to try stealing, begging, selling drugs, scamming, working illegally, etc. End result will be to give everyone on a DTV a bad reputation. -

Thailand Targets Tougher Alcohol Laws to Align with Global Norms
indeed it did with even more stringent restrictions on a sunday, Some counties in Wales were "dry" on Sundays too, although that didn't apply to the working mens clubs and miners clubs I think they used to have a referendum in each county every 5 years -

Transferring From A Tourist Visa (Or Visa Exempt) To A Non-Immigrant B (Work) Visa
Hi, Hopefully someone can inform me: When a foreign national (British) moves from a Tourist Visa to a Non-Immigrant B Visa - working at a business they have a controlling share in - can it be done from within Thailand or does it have to be done outside of the country? The Ministry of Foreign Affairs website only states: ‘Nationals of certain countries are required to apply for a visa only at the Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General in their home/residence country or at the designated Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General. ’ Also, are things any different when moving from Visa Exempt to a Non-Immigrant B Visa? Many thanks. -
