My heartbeat at rest is usually between 45 and 50 bpm, and has been for as long as I can remember - probably over 30 years. On every occasion that this low heart rate has been measured, most recently at my annual health check, I have been asked whether I am "athletic/gym bunny etc." - I'm not!  But I'm still here more than 30 years later so I guess the slow heartbeat is no real biggie. I'll worry when it stops.

First, as many other members stated, Google is not the place to seek reliable information on whatever topic.
Google has become such a pool of "false information" that it makes you wonder why you are still alive.

Second, I had all my live a low heartbeat.
I was doing a lot of sports and was told be every doctor/specialist that I had a top heartbeat and shouldn't worry about that.

But I was feeling unbearable pain in my cheeks when I was doing too much exersize.
That was until 1997 when I was hospitalized urgently with several heart attacks.
Lucky for me, my first heart attack was at the hospital during a visit to the Cardiolog and I received professional help.

The Cardiolog ordered a "24 hours health monitoring" on leaving the hospital.
"24 hrs health monitoring" consisted of wearing 24hs a walkman tape recorder connected to ECG wires around my heart.
The "24hrs health monitoring" showed a hearybeat of 25PPM during my sleep and the Cardiolog decided to implant a PM and restrict my "body building" exersizes to a bare minimum.
Now, it's 2024 and I am still alive thanks to my Cardiolog.

My advice, FORGET GOOGLE and go to a SPECIALIST (a Cardiologist and not a general practioner) in a hospital.

I decided the other day after reading on this forum about heart matters that I would go to my GP and ask for a heart test.

Apart from suffering with no symptoms of high blood pressure or as that Doctor wrote "hypertension ' the doctor said without any symptoms he would only do a EKG which was done in his nurses office by a nurse who said to me there was nothing wrong.

I noticed on the report paper of all the drawings graphs etc it said I I have a blood beat of 51 Bpm

I immediately googled it and it said someone with such a slow heart beat needs a pace maker !!!!!

I immediately went back to my GP and demanded I get a appointment immediately!!!!

I don't care if there were four in front of me , she told me to take a seat directly outside his door 🚪

Anyway to cut a long story short he said there is nothing wrong and it could mean I'm "very fit "

I told him about Google and said slow heart beat means I need a pace maker

I didn't gather at the time he was being sarcastic until I told a friend.

"Would you like to see Australia 's leading heart Specialist?

Yes definitely I replied immediately

I managed to get a appointment for a Echocardiography

Has anyone else had this 51 Beats per minute, I have no pain although I think I felt some pain this morning

Anyone else with this

I will go for a Echocardiography today at the reluctance of this GP who seems to be sarcastic and believes I'm "imagining " the pain 🥴

When I am very relaxed my heart is down to around 46 and my heart is totally trouble free. The top tennis players have heart rates around 35 when at rest.

The OP is overreacting and panicking for no good reason. Google is a reliable source, but only if the websites it sends you to are reliable. I always look for The Mayo Clinic or The Cleveland Clinic or The American Heart Association.

You haven't told us your age, but I am assuming 60's or 70's. Your heart rate is perfectly normal for your age. I am 76 and have asked these questions numerous times to at least 6 cardiologists, even 2 from the Queen Sirikit Heart Center in Khon Kaen. My heart rate remained at 42-44 for a couple of years until they took me off my BP pills, now it is around 50-54 daily. So long as you are not dizzy when you stand up, then you should be okay. If you are functioning normally and don't notice the low heart rate, then don't worry about it. The Echocardiogram is not necessary unless you just feel like spending the money for peace of mind. But then again, you could be opening a can of worms unnecessarily. Once you give some of these doctors a look under the hood, they will take advantage of you and run you through a whole host of unnecessary diagnostics. They need the revenue to guarantee their job security, plus some of them actually get a commission from the various diagnostic stations that may be operating as independent contractors for the hospital. Loosen up and enjoy the ride!

My resting heart rate is in the mid-fifties and after tests and whatnot the doctor (heart specialist at BNH recommended here) told me not to worry about it. He also said that there's nothing to do about it anyway. As long as it speeds up when it needs it's fine.

I mentioned to my doctor about heart rate in the 40's on smartwatch when I'm sleeping. She said it is OK as long as not feeling dizzy or faint, and some people do have low heartbeats. I'm in my 50's, slightly overweight, not an endurance sportsman! 😅

What is the rate immediately after ejaculation ?

I think that could vary depending on whether you refer to the heart rate of the person donating the sperm or the person receiving the sperm?🤣🤣🤣

If the recipient is a hooker the heart rate will remain at it's normal

I have a hard time measuring this as my pulse oximeter is too small to fit on my penis!

If you get a pacemaker it would likely be set to keep your heart beating above 50 bpm. When I had mine put in my heart rate was 8 bpm(beats per minute)

So you were dead then?

Almost. The presyncope caused me to go to the ER where they installed a holter monitor which measured the periods between beats occasionally up to 8 seconds. They installed the pacemaker the next day. Quick for Canada's rationed health care.

I'm not sure if this thread is supposed to be a joke or not...

It is definitely a joke, specifically an experimental joke.

The experiment is to see how many replies he can get in this topic.
