A shocking case of road rage happened at a traffic junction in San Sai, Chiang Mai, where a knife-wielding man threatened another driver. The incident happened late on Saturday, August 3, and gained a lot of attention after it was posted on social media.

Beat, the 26-year-old driver who posted the video, shared the events that led to the alarming encounter. He was on his way home from a friend’s place when he noticed a pickup truck pass him and then move into his lane.

Beat honked his horn to alert the driver of his presence, which provoked an angry reaction. The pickup driver responded by honking back, shouting insults and asking Beat to stop his car.

When Beat stopped, he was confronted by the older man, who appeared drunk, and was waving a long knife. The man accused Beat of driving slowly in the right lane. Even after Beat explained he wasn't blocking traffic, the older man kept challenging him.

To avoid escalating the situation, Beat returned to his car. Even though the man followed him, Beat managed to leave by making a U-turn.

Beat shared his story on his personal Facebook page as a warning to other drivers. His post attracted a lot of attention, with other people sharing similar experiences with the same man. One commented that they had also been threatened in the same place by the man but had not confronted him because they had a child in the car.

After the strong reaction to his post, Beat reported the case to the San Sai Police Station. The police have identified the aggressive driver as a 56-year-old from Phan district, Chiang Rai, using the vehicle’s license plate.

Beat said he just wanted to warn others about the danger. "It's not safe to have someone like that on the road, especially if they're carrying a weapon," he added.

Police are now looking into the incident, and the knife-wielding driver may face charges. This incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers of road rage and the importance of staying calm even in tense situations. The local community is urged to report similar experiences to ensure that the roads are safe for everyone.

Crikey, I'm glad I live in safe Pattaya, only thing you got to watch out for are the crazy foreigners.

A few years back, a neighbor of mine, Aussie guy, driving down soi Kophai, pulled out his machete and threatened a Thai gold shop owner who was driving, then ran him over

Crazy foreigners 😂
