You abuse Trump all the time.

Being critical of somebody who's highly deserving of that criticism is a completely different thing than lying. Calling all democrats socialists, Marxists, and communists is very disingenuous. It is so wrong on so many different levels and it is utterly immoral.

I'm not sure, but by the end of the week, he'll be the greatest American moderate in the history of the world!

I don't know his specific policies but I do know that's Minnesota has been in bad decline under his leadership.

Walz looks like an old man; he's 18 years younger than Trump and looks 6 years older.

We are not allowed to say what he really looks like....maybe a priest, a scoutmaster. I wonder if him and Biden exchange stories about the smell of Harris' hair.

Great pick. Worst ever? Yes.

You're just repeating the nonsense that Vance is putting out there. Vance is running scared and so is Trump, and they'll do or say anything at this point.

A fellow soldier is defending Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz from accusations of “abandoning” his fellow soldiers before their deployment to Iraq, a charge leveled by JD Vance, Walz’s competitor for the vice presidency.

Retired Sgt. Major Joseph Eustice said Walz “fulfilled his duty. He was a great soldier. When he chose to leave, he had every right to leave.”

Eustice spoke to NewsNation about the timing of Walz’s retirement in 2005 after serving in the Guard for 24 years. Walz left a few months before the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion was sent to Iraq.

“As far as I know, he did not know,” Eustice said of whether Walz knew about the upcoming deployment. “At that time, there were all kinds of rumors about us deploying. In May, when he decided to retire … we had no ‘Notice of Deployment.’ That didn’t come until July,” he added. Eustice said Walz told him before he left that he “was going to become a congressman,” and had spoken about the possibility for months before making his decision.

“I didn’t think that was a great idea. I didn’t think he would be a very good politician,” Eustice said.

At a campaign event in Michigan on Wednesday, Vance, who served in Iraq with the Marines, said Walz’s retirement was tantamount to desertion.

“When Tim Walz was asked by his country to go to Iraq, you know what he did? He dropped out of the Army and allowed his unit to go without him — a fact that he’s been criticized for aggressively by a lot of the people that he served with,” Vance said. “The governor carried, fired and trained others to use weapons of war innumerable times,” said Ammar Moussa, a campaign spokesperson.

“Governor Walz would never insult or undermine any American’s service to this country — in fact, he thanks Senator Vance for putting his life on the line for our country. It’s the American way.”

“Stolen valor” is the term generally used to describe those who claim to have served in the military but did not. The “Stolen Valor Act of 2013” makes it a federal crime to lie about one’s military service in order to profit from the lie.

Vance was on active duty with the Marine Corps from 2003 to 2007 during the Iraq war. Then known as James D. Hamel, Vance was deployed to Iraq with the Second Marine Aircraft Wing. His job was “combat correspondent,” which included basic communication roles such as writing articles about the events taking place in his unit. Vance was not a frontline combatant.

Who? Oh, her. Melania feels "betrayed" by her staff, according to a source who spoke to the Times. Melania’s former chief of staff, Stephanie Grisham, also took a critical shot at her in her book “I will take your questions now.” If this was not enough, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, the former first lady’s friend and confidante, took a more personal view in “Melania and Me,” in which she accused her former first lady of “burning out” during her time in Washington.

Recently, the ex-first lady showed up at a fancy dinner at Mar-a-Lago. Melania was there with Donald Trump. The source said that Melania feels hurt and that's why she keeps a low profile now. She only comes out in “highly controlled situations.” Speaking of her recent Mar-a-Lago appearance, the insider revealed, “She has dinner at Mar-a-Lago but doesn’t mingle and hobnob with people as he does. It’s a safe zone for him. She doesn’t view it as a safe zone.”

Melania thinks she was not greeted like other former first ladies and got a lot of flak. This left-out feeling went into the fashion world too, especially when Vogue magazine didn't put her on their covers, even though she wanted it. It looks like she will only join in places where she feels okay.

"Fellow soldier" knows nothing, merely a suck up.

Gov. Walz's biography boasts a higher National Guard rank than he retired with after he was automatically demoted for failing to fulfill obligations of his promotion. He also bailed out on his unit before deployment in Iraq.

Minnesota’s violent crime rate — a composite measure including homicide, rape, robbery and aggravated assault — shot up precipitously starting in 2020. The causes aren’t entirely clear, but the pandemic seems to have led to a rise in antisocial behavior, while the police killing of George Floyd and the rioting and unrest that followed drove subsequent upheavals in policing.

Total violent crime in the U.S. did not follow a similar trend, although most of the country did see a major spike in homicides, which account for a small fraction of violent crime totals.

Nevertheless, violent crime in Minnesota remains well below the U.S. average and has fallen sharply since peaking in 2021.

https://minnesotareformer.com/2024/07/31/how-minnesota-changed-during-tim-walzs-tenure/

Walz’s first term was largely defined by the gridlock of divided government and crisis management in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the aftermath of the police murder of George Floyd.

But once Democrats swept control of state government in the 2022 elections with Walz at the top of the ticket, they passed one of the most significant progressive agendas in the nation’s recent history with just a single-seat Senate majority.

Walz represented a Republican-leaning district in the U.S. House and was widely seen as the more centrist of the two leading Democratic candidates for governor, but he’s become a champion of progressive policy as governor. With few exceptions, Walz supported what the Democratic majorities in the state House and Senate could muster the votes to pass.

Those bills — ranging from protecting abortion access to speeding up energy permitting to increasing protections against wage theft — have excited the nation’s Democratic base, which is beginning to learn about the trifecta’s work over the past two years.

I am not fan or a supporter of Tim Walz but let's state some facts about his service with the MN Army National Guard. His last postiing was that of a Command Sergeant Major of a Field Artillery Unit. He enlised in 1981 and retired in May 2005.  He served  for 24 years. His final rank was a Master Sergeant because it appears he did not have enough time in grade to actually retire as a CMSgt(I am not certain of this and Walz has not offered much clarity about his final year of service).

HIs unit recieved mobilization orders for Iraq in the summer of 2005 and deployed in October 2005.  Therefore, did he actually retire to avoid a deployment to Iraq?  Only Walz knows this and he is not saying.  That is his perogartive.  Any service member with 20 or more years can retire unless there is Stop Loss Order by the Department of Defense. The DOD did not have a stop loss order for MN National Guard members in MOS(Military Occupational Speciality) in 2005.

This a short video of Walz actually talking about gun control but he seems to claim that he was actually in combat.  It might have been a slip but only he knows what he meant. Of course the Republicans are taking this and running with it. As for JD Vance he had one deployment to Iraq as a Marinc Corps Journalist. Really do not know what he actually did. He could be have been embeded with a Marine Rilfe Company or he coud have been assigned to a desk in an FOB (Forward Operating Base).  The truth migh be somewhere in the middle.

Anyway I servced with the California Army National Guard and was deployed with my unit to both Iraq and A-stan. Some fellow members of my unit who actually served in combat never made it home.

Your own post explains it.

Walz retired in May 2005.

His unit's deployment orders came in Summer 2005.

Unless Walz is psychic, there is no story here.

Nope.
