Thailand Parliament rejects pornography and sex toy legalisation

Recommended Posts

Parliament today rejected the Move Forward Party’s (MFP) proposal to legalise professions related to pornography and the sex toy industry.

given that the authorities refuse to enforce existing legislation such activities are effectively 'legal'. which is glaringly obvious to anyone with half a brain.

The decision was based on concerns about explicit advertising and potential violations of Muslim religious principles.

The Pheu Thai party is rightly very concerned about the effect that the proposal would have on 'Thai culture and tradition'. As is well known there is no prostititution in Thailand, or any other form of sexual activity.

Hence the birthrate is very low which the governmen is fully aware of.

“Muslim people can have sex and access sex education. However, prostitution and pornography production violate religious rules.”

So does kidnapping, bombing, stabbing, raping and shooting but that does not stop some of them all over the world. Muslims are offended by everything but ashamed of nothing, such as their prophet marrying a 6 year old and having sex with her when she was 9, he was 53!

You guys are so naive. Illegal yet in demand industries are prime money spinning ventures for police and friends. Legalizing gambling, sex related industries, undocumented workers, to name a few, will deprive them of high earnings via brown envelopes. That’s why they’ll fight tooth and nail to keep them this way.

MFP MPs also stated that sex toys have benefits, such as reducing the number of sex crimes, stress, and problems among couples.

Yes, there's a in-depth study from Chula University. Available at Uni Library.

I remember my coffee shop/hotel owner said immi. were trying to catch a westerner making porn films in hotels. Guess they were tracking him by TM30 and had Id him by face or name associated with Thai porn. Sure he would have been snared.

Yes, the duality of Thailand culture is fun/perplexing at times..so in-your-face with chicks enticing guys to sex for sale gogos - but porn made behind closed doors is a taboo no-no.

Which is what they could've done when MFP proposed, PROPOSED! amendments to Section 112. You know, like how parliament in an actual constitutional democracy is supposed to work.
