In Bangkok, a Thai couple has sought assistance from a news agency after failing to get the local police to identify two unknown persons who vandalized their home. The perpetrators were reported to have hurled bags containing pork blood and pickled fish at their residence located at Soi Phetchaburi 31 in the Ratchathewi district.

The incident, which happened on August 5, was followed up by a team from Channel 3 on August 8. The victims live in a five-story building, with the ground floor functioning as a shop for selling 'Kanom Krok', also known as coconut pancakes, next door to Pratunam Market.

The 65-year-old female victim, named Bualip, reported that she heard banging noises at their front door around 2.30am while they were asleep on the second floor. Initially, her husband thought it was due to an explosion in an outside electric transformer. However, upon investigating, they found blood stains on their door and nearby floor, accompanied by a foul odor. They speculated the blood was possibly mixed with pickled fish.

To help figure out what occurred, they asked their daughter from Pathum Thani province to scrutinize their home's security footage. The footage revealed two individuals arrived at their home on a motorcycle, one person remained on the vehicle while the other threw two bags of what is believed to be blood at their house.

Unable to identify the suspects who had motorcycle helmets on and used a motorcycle without a registration plate, the couple filed a complaint with the Phayathai Police Station. Additional footage obtained from neighbors and local businesses was also provided. Although the police promised a visit, the couple claims they never showed up.

Bualip expressed her bewilderment on the motivation behind the suspects’ actions. She maintained that she and her husband have lived peacefully in the building for over 30 years without quarrelling with anyone, as managing their shop consumes most of their time.

In response to Channel 3’s follow-up, the Phayathai Police Station confirmed they are actively investigating the incident.

Really?  So a couple guys decide to take the time and effort to prepare these blood and guts bombs and then just hurl them at an unknown couple's home?

Methinks the couple know who did it, and there had to be some serious animosity between the two parties, for this to occur.

Huh,

This is just an animist belief predating Buddhism.

It's known as "Bai Si" or "Su Khwan" and is meant to bring good luck, protect against evil spirits, and ensure harmony in the household. The use of specific food items, such as pork blood and pickled fish, can be symbolic.

My Thai hillbilly wife does it all the time. Then we go out for pizza or tacos.

I've suggested we do it with leftover pizza but she says that's too expensive.

The good old inactive cops yet again, least they could do is check what blood it was, it could have been human for all they knew.
