The dehumidifier is plugged into the wall outlet. The energy from the outlet powers a motor which operates a compressor which runs the dehumidifier. The energy from the outlet produces heat since the motor is not 100 percent efficient. The heat produced causes the temperature in your room to rise. Departin flight from BKK at 1a.m., will pass immigration about 22.30 or 23.00 What date will the immigration stamp show? Immigration wants to see the boarding pass iirc? I can find only very old and inconclusive threads about this. -

What’s the best area in Thailand for expats to settle for long-term living?
Hua Hin was voted 3rd best place in the world to retire last year by some website. Maybe Forbes. Very subjective but I personally think Hua Hin is pretty nice and not yet ruined by over tourism and over development like Phuket and Pattaya have been imo. Still has the benefit of being relatively close to BKK, just like Pattaya. The double tracks make train travel faster and the new expressway through Bangkok, scheduled for completion middle of next year, should reduce the road trip from 3 hours down to maybe 2. -

Are you serious?? Have you seen Thai's drive?? yeah right, it is Thais who have never driven car before. Seen this idiotic behavior many times, shift right a bit before turning left like they are driving a moto but not needed with a 4 wheeler. Or driving straight through a crossing with any blinker on. Or turning left with right blinker on. They are gods at driving moto but car skills are seriously lacking. -

Lol what? It's the shops around town with gear ⚙️ sign and looks like mechanic garage ⚙️ I bring bikes and cars there. Brand new vehicles u dont have to but if it's few years old you need inspection. -

Somewhere in the south like Songkhla would be my choice if I were single and about to retire. Quiet, but varied in culture and nature. Good air quality and hot, but similar weather throughout the year. Hat Yai is close by for your shopping needs and if you need a flight elsewhere. -

Why is the Korean war irrelevant? China repeated its Korean strategy in India and then Vietnam. The accusations of a US military industrial complex are unfounded when one considers the state of the US military supply chain now. The Putin Collective gleefully points out the low manufacturing output of ordinance in the USA, screaming with delight that unlike Putin's Russia, the USA is not making "enough" artillery shells and other munitions. Today, astronauts are sitting up in the ISS waiting for a ride home because Boeing can't guarantee a safe trip. So much for the great overpowering military industrial complex of the USA. The US military is one of the most significant drivers of medical and technological research in the world. Its infectious disease unit directly impacts the quality of life of everyone in Thailand with its work on HIV, dengue, malaria and other insect borne illnesses. Fat farangs are able to travel to Thailand in comfort on aircraft developed in large part because of US military advances in aviation. It is the US military that has delivered aid to catastrophe stricken regions of the world and it was that US military industrial complex that responded to the first ebola crisis in Africa that prevented the world from succumbing to a plague much worse and far deadlier than Covid. And it was the US military industrial complex that provided the framework for one of the greatest humanitarian efforts in the world, when the administration of President George Bush (the younger) launched its AIDS relief in campaign in Africa saving the lives of millions of people. Russia and China certainly did not help, nor contribute. -

how is this 180 day calculated . in my case In this year 2024 in Jan I was for 20 days, April,may,June - 3 month . I plan go last week of October and stay till Dec 31 . -

He is Right...It is scary
I tend to agree & often feel like it must be a sign of my age (67) but I agree it is not what I grew up with either. Of course there has always been behind the scenes BS. I mean we can look back & see JFK, Cuba, Vietnam etc etc but this world today seems far far worse off 😕
