Samut Prakan, August 17, an accident occurred at a recycling warehouse in Samut Prakan, where a 34-year-old Myanmar worker was fatally crushed by a hydraulic paper baler. The incident took place at around 13:00, in Moo 9, Nai Khlong Bang Pla Kot subdistrict, Phra Samut Chedi district.

Police investigator Lt. Col. Suwit Phudonnang from the Phra Samut Chedi Police Station received a report that the worker had fallen into the baler and was crushed to death. Upon arrival at the scene, authorities, accompanied by doctors from Phra Samut Chedi Sawatyanon Hospital and the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, discovered the body of Mr. Hein Naung, who was found lying on the floor near the machine.

The warehouse, which spans over one rai of land, was filled with various types of recyclable materials. The hydraulic baler, measuring 2 metres wide and 6 metres long, had three to four compacted paper bales inside. The worker's sandals were found near the machine.

According to a co-worker, 43-year-old Mr. Pirith from Surin province, the two were working together, feeding paper into the machine for baling when the accident happened. While Pirith was tying wire to secure the bales, he heard Naung cry out for help. Upon turning around, he saw his colleague trapped in the machine. He immediately turned off the baler and attempted to pull the victim out, administering first aid while calling for help. Unfortunately, Naung had succumbed to his injuries before rescue workers arrived.

The police have recorded the incident and are continuing their investigation. They plan to question other workers and the warehouse owner. Naung's body has been sent to the Forensic Institute for an autopsy.

No safety barriers to prevent access while the machines operating then?

Indeed... I hope the company does the right thing and compensates the workers family..
