At around 05:00 on August 19, Pol. Lt. Chanant Ketsornbua, an investigator from Pattaya City Police Station, was notified of an incident involving a person falling from a height and dying. The incident occurred at a five-star luxury hotel, on Pattaya Second Road, in North Pattaya, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province.

Upon receiving the report, Pol. Lt. Chanant informed his superior, Pol. Col. Navin Theerawit, Chief of Pattaya City Police Station, and led a team of investigators and rescue personnel to the scene.

The location was a high-end hotel near a famous shopping center and the Dolphin Roundabout. Upon arrival, hotel security staff had already cordoned off the area with metal barriers and placed a white tent over the deceased’s body to block the view. Access to the hotel was restricted, and no forensics team had been called to investigate the scene.

The deceased was later identified as a 67-year-old Icelandic national. He had fallen from the 31st floor of the hotel. His body suffered severe injuries, with parts of his body hitting the glass awning and ground, leading to a gruesome and horrifying scene, with body parts scattered across the area. The cause of the fall remains unclear, and no one witnessed the tragic event.

Pol. Lt. Chanant Ketsornbua documented the incident as evidence. It is still uncertain whether the fall was accidental or involved other circumstances. Authorities will review CCTV footage for further investigation. The body has been taken to Bang Lamung Hospital, where it will be preserved until relatives can provide the necessary documents.

Sorry there is some confusion in the reporting by Thai media, on the nationality of the victim. Most source are saying he was Icelandic, but some are reporting he was Irish. We are currently unable to verify which is correct.
