Man Survives Being Shot Three Times, Sparks Immortality Claims

A Thai man unbelievably survived after being shot three times by his adversary in a village within the Isaan province of Buriram, Thailand. This was during an ongoing feud that has lasted seven years, after the supposed victim previously claimed he was unkillable.

 

40-year-old Somchai ran to the Satuek Police Station seeking justice, saying that his enemy, Thak, who is 44, shot him in the rear on August 19. However, without tangible evidence to link Thak to the crime, the police were initially unable to move forward with the case.

 

The police later invited Thak for a discussion at the station, and he confessed to the shooting. He also willingly showed the officers where he had stashed the weapon in his home.

 

Thak mentioned that he was fishing when Somchai came and began taunting him. Somchai purportedly blamed him for fish theft from a local property owner and taunted him into shooting if he had the courage. According to Thak, Somchai boldly declared that he was impervious to bullets.

 

On his part, Thak alleges that upon seeing Somchai approach him as if to engage in a fight, he took out his gun and shot Somchai, who was then able to escape from the scene.

 

Thak is astounded and convinced of Somchai's immortality, based on the fact that the bullets did not penetrate, instead resulting in minor grazes.

 

In a discussion with Channel 7, Somchai said the tension between him and Thak had been present for more than seven years. Considering his minor injuries, he claimed luck was on his side, denying ever bragging about being immortal.

 

Somchai noted that his lucky charm, a sacred wild boar tusk amulet he had discovered over ten years ago in the southern province of Chumphon, and which he'd been wearing ever since, had spared him from serious harm.

 

Due to this incident, Thak will face legal repercussions for his attempt to disprove Somchai's alleged immortality. He is being charged with attempted murder, a crime which carries half the penalty for intentional murder. Therefore, he faces the death penalty, lifetime imprisonment, or a 15- 20 years imprisonment sentence under Section 288 of the Criminal Code.

So if he can only get half the penalty for attempted murder does that mean he would of received 2 death penalties for intentional murder?
