Trump Shifts Deportation Focus, Pausing Raids on Farms, Hotels and Eateries
Here's an article from the conservative National Review. It says that President Trump has given illegals a major incentive to work for protected industries. Expect a migration of these criminals from industries that aren't protected. "For one thing, the amnesty signals to illegal immigrants that self-deportation is irrational. Because DHS manpower is limited, meaningful reductions in the illegal population require voluntary returns as a complement to direct removals. Illegal immigrants may indeed leave voluntarily if they believe their employment opportunities have diminished and their chances of forcible removal have increased. Administrative amnesty teaches them the opposite — if they find a job in a favored industry, the authorities won’t bother them." https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/trumps-new-amnesty-would-cover-about-two-million-illegal-immigrants/ -

Retirement Visa/Overstay
He told me this was his first visa, but I know he was doing 90 reports online, so maybe he meant this was his first extension. The money has been in the bank for 12 months plus so that won't be a problem. I'm not sure if this makes a difference, but the original visa/extension was granted in another province. He has relocated and is hoping he can reapply in Chiang Rai. I guess he will find out today when he goes to Immigration.
