Wow, just logged in and this is definitely the most important thread today, and will possibly go on all weekend unless GG starts another thread.

How often do you look at the A/C unit and notice the sticker?

I am so happy that my Mitsus show a big number 5!

Regarding numerology...

I like the number FIVE for omelettes.

But, I dislike the BIG YELLOW AND GREEN NO. 5 on my machine.

Chanel No. 5 is quite good, though....

Well maybe paint a pastiche Jackson Pollock over the whole front of the aircon?

The paint thickness should be enough to mask the contours of the sticker and you would have created a wonderful talking point for the members of your poetry group.

👍🫠

I would only do this if the REAL Jackson could return and do the painting.

Then....

I would be  EVER-SO happy!

You have a clever answer for everything GG.

Miss Monroe only wore Chanel 5 in bed, nothing else. !

I just tried to remove the label from one of my 12 year old Mitsu ACs with my thumbnail. Came off easily BUT underneath it was the original white plastic, whereas the rest had yellowed over time.

I am going to paint them the same colour as my walls so they cannot be seen .

Hi Folks,

Tomorrow, I need to remove the poor-quality energy stickers from an indoor AC unit.

They are extremely....low quality, with bad adhesive characteristics....

What is the point in designing a beautiful AC unit, only to stick on an Ugly-A sticker.

image.png.b77b26f1c04d9b5988e486fdd04fbead.png

The other problem with these stickers is that they are very poor quality, and the adhesive seems harmful, cosmetically, to the machine, and the finish of the machine.

What is the best way?

I don't have a hairdryer, by the way.

Is alcohol OK?

Also, I have tried alcohol in the past, and alcohol does not do a very proper job, usually.

If the machine were metal, then it would be easier.

Some good companies, SMART COMPANIES, such as the water-heater company....STEIBEL ELTRON...provide the sticker in a box, separately, so that you can add it on, if you really LOVE it.

You see?

There ARE some companies that understand aesthetics, and the importance of beauty, and ergonomics.

Other companies, most companies....have no clue.

I do not to pay so much money for a complete EYESORE!

Why can't major companies understand this simple thing, just as  does Steibel Eltron?

Are they completely OBTUSE??????

So, I need to remove the sticker before having the unit mounted on the wall.

But, I just need to make sure that the plastic finish is not damaged in the removal.

And, the energy stickers are GARBAGE quality, for sure.....

Really need help with this.....

BIG TIME!

Best regards,

Gamma

Note:  By the way...I am SURE you guys, some of you, know the answer to this HOW TO....  And, I have an urgent need, at the moment....  THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive used lighter fluid since CD days getting off price stickers.

WD 40 or generic spray oil from MrDiy…

peel off the outer plastic layer and spray the paper backing to saturate it…  Let sit overnight…

Rub off with fingers or soft cloth saturated with the spray oil…

Dont use any abrasive cloth or sponge as it could scuff the plastic…
