A rescue worker helped make an eight-year-old girl's dream of eating KFC come true after she was discovered strolling to school in the middle of the night. The girl, thrilled about a school trip to see elephants, had left home on foot to ensure she didn't miss her school bus.

She was found on Buriram-Nang Rong Road late with milk and snacks in her backpack. A generous passerby noticed the young girl, took her to a service station and contacted Siam Ruam Jai Pu In Rescue Team to bring her home.

The girl's mother, a 29-year-old woman who just returned from work, hadn't realized her daughter left the house. She explained her daughter was extremely excited about the trip as she had never seen elephants in person.

Happiness filled the air when the school bus got back from the trip at 5pm. The young girl who had woken up earlier was full of joy. She shared her excitement of seeing all the different size elephants before her mother came to pick her up.

Upon visiting the girl's home, the rescue worker discovered that she lived in a small wooden hut. The girl's mother disclosed that her daughter lost her father in an accident four years prior, and due to her job, the girl hasn't had the opportunity to explore or experience new things.

When the rescue worker asked the girl what she wanted to eat, she mentioned a desire to try KFC - a first-time experience for her. Moved by her request, the rescue worker got the mother's approval to bring them to a KFC venue in Nang Rong district.

The rescue worker informed the girl that the rescue team members' contributions funded the KFC meal and expressed their desire to help look after her. They all then headed as a group to the KFC restaurant to share a meal.

That is one very determined young lady (8 years old). Bless her.

This story is going to bring a tear to more than one cynical old fart (me included) on here.

Brings back memories as I did EXACTLY the same thing when I was eight years old. Slipped out of the house at 3.00 am as I didn't want to miss the school trip to Chessington Zoo. Luckily mum heard the door close and ran up the road in her nighty to get me back.

It certainly does the hear good. A heartwarming story that we all should take influence from.

Notice no pics or posting on social media. Just give and move on. Saw an older guy Monday this week. He had one of those 3 -wheel bicycle things that a handle moves along. His legs were no good and he was rummaging through bins in the rain.

Swung the truck around, did a u-turn and gave him some cash. The expression on his face was reward enough. He wasn't begging but trying to make his own way & this needs to be rewarded. 🙂

Damn,    wish I was part of that group :drunk:

A real nice story for a change and kudos to the rescue guy for him bringing enjoyment to that little girls heart.

a great story ....

god bless her little heart.

I was in McDonald's eating one day. Saw an older thai gentleman (75+) looking at the menu.  Then inside his wallet counting his money. It appeared he didn't eat this kind of food  before as he looked at the menu for a long time kind of confused.  Clearly, he didn't have enough money as he began to leave.  I stopped him before he left and asked one of the staff to help translate for me. I told him that my grandfather used to take me to McDonald's when I was young. And that I would like to buy him lunch. Whatever he wanted.  After some more talking he said he never had McDonald's before. And finally accepted.  I waited for him to get his food and wished him a good day.
