Health Supplements
Never had 'high blood pressure'. The most successful actions I have found to stay lean, feel energetic and sleep soundly for 8 hours is regular daily exercise: walking every day toward a couple of miles, stretching, some light yoga and just the basic Vitamin supplements; A,D,E,C,Zinc,B12. A plus if you can make protein drinks; yogurt, frozen berries or best fresh, protein powder, cut fruit, any other powder supplements that indicate to you. No drugs or prescription meds. No smoking. No alcohol. No fried foods. Grass fed beef. Organic shopping as much as realistic. Regular sexual activity. Also awareness of dehydration in the Thai Sun and take daily electrolyte drink from three store bought ingredients that all the electrolyte products are made from; Salt, Potassium Chloride and Magnesium Glycinate. It's a fallacy that HBP is due to too much salt. There has never been a verifiable research on it that shows salt is harmful. In fact there are studies that show the longest living groups of humans consume much more salt daily than the average American. Good luck. -

Thai Benefits vs Taxation.
The population of Thailand is not relevant to how many people pay tax, the size of the workforce is the only factor since Thai retirees, disabled, incarcerated and children don't typically file tax returns. The size of the Thai work or labour force is calculated at 38 million people. A couple with one child have sizeable allowances and deductions before they must file a tax return, their TEDA are: + 60k Personal Allowance, +150k zero rated for tax = 210k as above for the second person, +30k for the child = 240k Total 450k or 37.5k each per month.....Thai nationals can live on that here. -

Tariffs and how Trump is a socialist.
As far as I'm concerned one of the most dangerous, reckless, and poorly thought out policies that Trump has proposed, are even higher tariffs on many classes of imported products. Who ends up paying for this? American companies who are manufacturing in China, and the consumer, that's who. In the end huge taxes may encourage companies to pull out of China, which is a good thing, but how long will that process take, and what will the economic consequences be in the interim? He is not a socialist. He is a failed capitalist. It is fairly easy to get wealthy if you are willing to steal most of your fortune from unsuspecting small contractors. Yet he still went bankrupt. That requires a special kind of skill. Or another form of grifting. His tax hike proposals would end up being a disaster. If they were highly targeted tariffs, only imposed upon goods other states were subsidizing, making it impossible to compete, that makes sense and would be good policy. But, blanket tariffs end up being punitive for the American consumer and American companies forced to operate overseas due to the silly costs of manufacturing in the US. They are a tax. Trump lies when he says other nations will pay for them. He lies when he says companies will pay for them. Consumers will pay, so it becomes a tax. Be bold, big Don and for once be honest. It is a tax hike. And it could slow down the economy and result in a massive loss of jobs, and major inflation. Very dumb policy. -

Tariffs and how Trump is a socialist.
If one follows MAGA logic, if one is a socialist one is also simultaneously a fascist and communist. Just a jumble of political "word salad" to deflect ignorance of the MAGA cult. -

Tourism Minister Aims to Levy 300-Baht Fee for Visitors
Of course it's a cash grab. Simply a tax increase. But an $8.50 increase won't collapse tourist spending, nor will it gum up the works trying to collect it. They can add it to the cost of a plane ticket and 99% of tourists won't even notice. Besides, most of the folks on here complaining about it fly in maybe once or twice a year, because they live in Thailand. Is it worth getting worked up about less than $20 a year? I'm probably in the worst case scenario, flying in once a month. And it will add a whopping $103 to my annual cost of living. Color me unconcerned. Last night, I bought next month's R/T airplane tickets and the price is $112 lower than this month's. That $8.50 would get lost in that kind noise. -

Does your Thai wife keep you on a short leash?
Sounds like you are depressed. Also sounds like your wife has a bit on the side so the arrangement suits her. Very common in Thailand to have a bit on the side. -
