The odds are that these are Canada Geese. Which are a pest. (The spelling of which is close to "pets".)

Canada geese causing problems for cities as experts struggle to reduce populations

While Canada geese are a national symbol(opens in a new tab), the animals can cause a lot of problems for the cities they reside in, leaving officials grappling to find solutions to mitigate their populations.

In recent decades, B.C.-based urban biodiversity planner Jennifer Rae Pierce says Canada geese have been derided as urban pests, overrunning new habitats across North America, especially in cities.

Pierce told CTV's Your Morning on Wednesday that the issue is not the migrating geese, but rather the "resident geese" that have, in some cases, taken up residence in urban areas year-round.

More people should be eating them.

Good God, man.  That proves it's even more widespread and been going on longer than we've been told?

That's what the "fact checkers" would conclude if it was Trump letting in all the Haitians.

There's no evidence the man in the photo has anything to do with the Haitian community, or what actually was going on in the photo, which was taken far away in Columbus, Ohio.

DeWine reminds Ohioans there's 'no credible evidence' of immigrants eating pets

September 12th 2024

...

On Wednesday, [Ohio Gov.] DeWine was asked about Trump's having cited the false claim in front of a national television audience.

"My job is to tell what the facts are and what we're seeing," DeWine said. "And I rely frankly on Mayor Rue, the other officials in the county. Look, they're the ones who were there, they're the ones who know what's going on. They found no credible evidence of that story of Haitians eating pets."

I heard DeWine's interview on NPR radio today and he described the Haitian immigrant community as "hard working". He did mention that obtaining an Ohio driver's license did not require completing a driver's education course and that this was an issue with newcomers. But in general, he seemed to be welcoming of the Haitian immigrants.

No, Haitian migrants aren’t ‘decapitating ducks’ in Springfield, Ohio | Fact check

Our rating: False

Sept. 11, 2024

There is no evidence Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio, did any such thing. A spokesperson said the city hasn’t had any substantiated reports of ducks being killed, nor have there been any credible reports of other animals, including cats, being harmed.

No evidence of Haitian migrants harming ducks in Ohio city

Multiple officials in Springfield, a city of about 58,000 people in central Ohio, have said there is no evidence of Haitian migrants harming or eating any dogs, cats or other pets. Karen Graves, a spokesperson for the city, told USA TODAY that they “have not received any substantiated reports of duck mutilation.”

Jason Via, deputy director of public safety and operations for the Springfield Police Department, told NPR in August that police in the city have heard a variety of unfounded claims about Haitian migrants, and he specifically called out the claim about ducks supposedly being harmed in the city’s parks.

But Donald Trump says it so it must be true!

Any distraction to vote Republicans can do. Trump looks like an idiot on that debate. It looked like he was fumbling for answers. He’s too old to be present. He’s a cheat. He’s a liar. He has no more standards.

I wonder who ties [Trump's] idiots shoes every morning before he goes out and sprouts his daily lies everywhere. I mean he  not has the intelligence to tie his own shoelaces.

I saw 2 Russians, or maybe Chinese, or maybe Americans, pushing a baby in a buggy the other day. They sure looked like they were going to eat the baby. I was on my way to work too. Funny coincidence.

You should have asked them to share.

Isn't goose hunting legal in Ohio?  Seems they may have been in season, but possibly no permit.......LOCK THEM UP!
