black ink for canon in Epson printer?

Featured Replies

Inkjets, SIL has the Epson I have some black ink for canon, would the black canon ink work in the Epson, or do any damage or just look a mess? Some say no, some sources say you can get away with it. Not my printer so don't want to mess it up

It shouldn't hurt the unit but it might hard to clean out if it doesn't. You can get ink at any office store.

I remember when I bought my Epson printer that they had a long description why their ink was different. I don't remember the details.

Personally, I wouldn't use it if you are not sure. Otherwise, it might end up in total damage.

I think black will be ok   it's the other colours that might not render the correct colour hue if you use other inks   it can probably be corrected with a custom colour profile in the printer driver setup but is a pain in the bum to do.
