Pattaya police are investigating after a local fisherman discovered the body of a young woman submerged in a fenced-off pond. The victim, wearing a black t-shirt and cream-colored trousers, is believed to have been dead for at least 10 hours before being found.

The discovery took place on September 21, at 22:05 in a pond located near Soi Chaiyaphruek 1, Subsoi 3, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi. Deputy Inspector Lt. Col. Chonlawit Athipansri of Pattaya City Police Station was informed of the situation and immediately dispatched a team to the scene, along with officers from the Pattaya Tourist Police, led by Pol. Lt. Col. Supharat Meepricha, and the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation.

At the site, officers found a well-secured pond, surrounded by barbed wire, with a pair of sandals placed near the water’s edge. Inside the approximately one metre deep pond, the body of a woman, around 165 cm tall, was discovered. Authorities estimate she had been dead for more than 10 hours, with no visible signs of injury.

Mr. Tawee, a 45-year-old local fisherman, was the one who made the chilling discovery. He recounted that while setting a fish trap, he noticed the sandals by the water but didn’t think much of it at first. However, when he dipped his leg into the water, he noticed human hair and a head. Initially in disbelief, he inspected more closely and confirmed it was a body. Horrified, he immediately left the water and called the police.

The body has been sent to the Police General Hospital's forensic department for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities are working to identify the victim as part of the ongoing investigation.
