What should I look for when buying private insurance?
I'm in my early 30s and looking to purchase private health insurance. What are some key factors to consider when choosing a plan, and what would be a reasonable annual limit and coverage? -

Visit to tax office, Koh Samui,(today)
Why? So they can appease overly-paranoid farangs who don't owe the TRD any taxes, but who have been scared s***less by this continued scary-talk about "New Tax Rules" that aren't even new? Most expats who have done their homework, have done a dry-run on their tax assessments, and own nothing should just keep their records in a file box and then take a huge Chill-Pill and relax. -

Thailand Visa Exemption (60 days) and Visa On Arrival (VOA) (15 days)
Ok since you plan to have your wife and kids leave by land, do not leave with an overstay. This can become a serious issue. So have them all go to Laos to get another 60 days VE. Since you do not want to pay for an agent, they will need to stay in Laos for 2 nights. In addition on return they will probably be asked for flights out and confirmation of accommodation booking in Thailand. So make sure they have that. Your wife will also probably get a scolding or stern talking to or some fearmongering from the IO. -

e-visa : do you still need to print it?
Thanks, everyone. Finding a print shop in Busan is a nightmare. The addresses on Kakao Maps and Naver Maps were not valid, and Google Maps is completely outdated (2017!!!). I wasted two hours for nothing. Eventually, a shop where I asked for a print service did it for me—for free. It was the same thing last year. Next year, I'll just ask my usual bakery directly! By the way, getting the e-visa is also a nightmare. I don’t know why it’s so complicated and why they ask for so many documents when they require nothing for the visa exemption. Once you’ve submitted everything they ask for, they keep requesting additional documents—especially an onward ticket, even though you can extend your stay by 30 days. On that note, some good news: AirAsia now offers the option to cancel your ticket and get a full refund—for a fee. The cost of this service is slightly lower than that of an Onward ticket. -
