Don't know what 'downtown' is, but most things are within walking distance, or short hop from the baht bus route on Phetkasem Rd. Try Ree Raa Resort, (resort is a stretch) though not sure what they consider a child (age) vs an adult. Also across the street, from BluPort Mall for reasonable priced dining in their food court, in AC comfort. booking.com info: May or may not get charged extra, if not requesting a bed.
