Is this legal? No farangs welcome...
He can't anyway. 🤣 I don't think it's because they hate foreigners. Probably either: a) they don't speak English b) they don't want the hassle of doing all the necessary immigration stuff c) they have no recourse if a foreigner trashes the place and leaves the country or leaves without paying his bills. -

Ukraine ... Enlighten yourself
You are perfectly entitled to your opinion, but to imply that those who share that opinion, " ... can look at reality and judge it on its merits ... (while those who hold to an alternative viewpoint) .... have to invent a wholly imaginary narrative", is imo diametrically opposite to the truth. -

Thai Baht weakens as government pushes for lower rates
The Thai baht has started to lose value this month, leading to speculation that its recent rally could be losing momentum. This comes as conflict increases between Thailand's government and its central bank. In October, the Baht weakened 2.7% against the US dollar. This came after it had its best quarter since the Asian Financial Crisis. Mizuho Bank predicts that by the end of the year, the baht could slide to 33.6 per dollar. Increased pressure from upcoming Bank of Thailand and Federal Reserve policy meets might negatively influence the Baht. By Friday, the currency had dropped to 33.2. Thailand's government is planning to increase the inflation target next year. This could give them more leverage in their push for lower borrowing costs. Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has been publicly urging the Bank of Thailand (BoT) to reduce rates to stimulate growth. This has been making investors nervous, causing the baht to depreciate further. Despite this pressure, the central bank is expected to keep its rate at 2.5% this week, resisting requests to ease and insisting on making its own decisions free from government interference. Investors have sold a total of $1.178 billion from Thailand's stock and bond market this month. This move by the government for a higher inflation target of 1.5%-3.5% for 2025 has led to a negative shift in sentiment towards the currency. As the local tourism season approaches its peak months, pressure on the baht could begin easing. Local stimulus measures, like cash handouts, expected to boost economic growth, limit the harm of a slower pace in Federal Reserve rate cuts. Lloyd Chan, a currency strategist at Mufg Bank, anticipates the baht to reach 32.5 per dollar by the end of 2024. However, market concerns remain over the potential erosion of the independence of Thailand's central bank due to government interference. File photo for reference only -- 2024-10-14 -

DeSantis Pushes Back on Climate Change’s Role in Stronger Storms
Intellectually vacuous? No. But to teach someone they have to accept that they don't understand a concept. In your case, it's rate of change. Climate change was happening very slowly over most of the last 2 millennia. Then it sped up. You don't seem to grasp the significance of that fact. -

Sending food back to the kitchen?
Yes, based on your reply, I have a couple of questions. Let´s see if you can answer them this time, as you invited them, or are you going to talk rubbish around them? 1. Where did I disagree with that different restaurants have different protocols? Of course that can have to do with how and what to eat the food with for an example. However, it has not to do with showing respect for the diners. One way to show that respect, is to serve all food at the same time to diners at the same table, or who came together. 2. What have all that you reply with to do with, for example, getting appetizers before main courses? In Thai cuisine, there are not much appetizers, as they usually eat all at the same time. 3. If Thai people run a restaurant serving European food, should they not follow the same rules like other nations do? 4. What did you clear up this time? Your own problems with understanding, as you so clearly mentioned before? -

Tour Bus Carrying Malaysian Tourists Collides with 18-Wheeler in Sadao: 14 Injured
Its how they have been taught, Liability In many ways, Thailand is the opposite to the United States. In the United States all men are born equal, but this is an absurd notion in Thailand where no one is equal and everyone knows their position in the social hierarchy. Litigation has gone to extreme levels in the United States and has spawned a whole industry of lazy people whose only goal in life is to try to blame others for various misfortunes so that they can try to sue people for vast amounts of money. It is this reason, and this reason only, why cups containing hot beverages have notices stating that the contents is hot, and why bags of peanuts must state that the product contains nuts. This is one extreme, but Thailand is at the other extreme. Shortly after arriving in Thailand I read about a young girl who was attacked by a Rottweiler dog. The owner of the dog gave her family Bt500. Thais might think a little bit more about the consequences of their actions if they were hit with huge law suits or prison sentences, but that doesn't happen either. I don't necessarily agree with overly-litigious societies like the United States, but the threat of a huge law suit at least makes people think about the possible consequences of their actions. -

Was the head director of Thai Revenue Department who said it... My guess will not happen in 2025. One could stay in TH until mid June and when they really implement ww taxation leave as one is not a tax resident under a stay of 180 days.
