How many times in one lifetime would you need one?  Just to renew driving L every 5 years and when you buy a vehicle.  Hardly a yearly issue. I have had to get two in 8 years and my agent got them for 1,000 Baht a time.

Topic is the procedure to obtain a TB and ID card, not what it's useful for, but just to put your post into prospective.

In the last 8 years, I've purchased 3 motorcycles, 2 vehicles, 3 driving licences, open two bank accounts and more, all with a YB and ID card.
No agents - no fees!
