WOW! TAWP ventured out of the T&A threads for this?

I thought I missed something during my vacation.

Forgive my manners. Regards to everyone for support.

Guesthouse, I regret you have been tangled up with me in this false fiasco, as I respect your views and free dispensing of wisdom on TV.

86, tango.

Regards All.

Chownah - where was I insulting to you? Or was it insulting that I just didn't bother to answer your questions? Apologies about that. With all the haha-ing, I didn't realise you seriously wanted an answer. :o

The saddest thing about this thread, as far as I'm concerned is that most of the ones joining in, defending their right to look at girly pics

I didn't join in this thread because of the so called girlie pic. Jeez if that is a girly pic, well... I joined in because of the reaction to it "insulting or joking" at muslim women

There's a serious debate right now, about sex, but most of you bowed out after expressing your personal views about its necessity to your everyday life.

I usually like to stick to light hearted threads on here because i have a day job and don't have too much time to get into debates. But believe me i have strong views about the more serious side of that discussion, i just don't have the time to start debating it on here at the moment. Don't take people litterally for what they post or don't post on here. It doesn't neccessarily reflect what they are like in person. :o

Is this the only thing you can get seriously worked up about? The only subject in life you're passionate about? Your right to look at girls (often semi-pornographic pictures) without anyone coming into your thread & saying you're a bunch of losers? Well, enjoy. Before this thread, not having had my attention drawn to how strongly you all feel about this, I had no negative views about the contributors to those threads. Now, I'm not so sure.

Oh my Buddha NR, your'e sounding like Mary Whitehouse re-incarnate

I suppose some of the Bedlam ladies who don't like girlie pictures could always go back to the Ladies sub forum. One of the most popular threads there in recent times was entitled "Desirable Men". It was heavily sprinkled with pics of men, some stripped to the waist or in their undies. Their various features were then discussed at length as if they were pieces of meat.

Phrases such as "eye candy" and "I'd like that naked draped across my bed" were bandied about.

A couple of the main protesters here, had their say in that thread. :o

That's appalling behaviour.

I'm disgusted and feel like us fellas are just being taken advantage of and used as porn material, for sex hungry females who just want to use me for................wait a minute, i like the sounds of that :o

November Rain,

You didn't insult me at all....I was just noticing that you were complaining about being insulted and then insulting other people in virtually the same breath and thought I'd bring it to your attention.....it was not meant as a major complaint towards you but just mostly something you might want to consider....or maybe not...just an observation.

This thread is a real mud hole....lot's of thrashing and nothing is getting clearer. I guess my last post was sort of an attempt to help you get back onto a line of posting that delineated your objections in a more thought out and reasoned manner...but it wasn't a very good attempt I'll have to admit.

I sort of wished that there had been some real thought put into the various aspects of the picture etc. etc. because I'm fence sitting on this one...I can appreciate the devil's advocate aspect to the photo but also see the negative aspects (people as sex objects or Muslims being further incited for instance). What about he idea that the people are offering their bodies up as sex objects but by staying hooded they are not giving their personal or inner identity up but keeping that pure by withholding it....perhaps this could be seen as an extention of the psyche that develops in young women when they are forced into arranged marriages (Muslim tradition)....where they are forced to yield their bodies but can not be made to yield the essence of their selves....but I guess these kinds of ideas don't go over well here.

Hear, hear.

I think the OP's main intent was merely to use the photo to belittle anyone who is not titillated by T&A snaps. The original intent of the snap was probably to invoke various emotional or political responses, as it has done here.

Perhaps the admins would consider creating a Men's subform. Only fair, really. Then the fleshmongers could have their tittle tattles and slide shows in the comfort of their own space. Talk about penile erectus dysfunctions, the best kama sutra positions (if they even know what KS is), and other issues specific to their gender, like prostate cancer. Sure, women could visit, but would be warned that they are entering a "testosterone" zone. For the lasses, it would kind of be like a night out watching ping pong in Patpong. I wonder how many of these men actually know how to pleasure a woman; seems like many are only concerned about their own satisfaction.

CVic, thanks for posting the Flash poster. It is a bit disconcerting when one is singled out for attack and the attacker cannot even spell his target's name correctly.

  • Author

Attack? I think the lady protests too much.

The only one attacking was you and Guesthouse in the other thread.

This thread was merely a riendly pointer that you can post your conserns here instead of filling up the other one with mud.

Mr BoJ - This thread isn't about that picture. Pay attention :o . TAWP drew my attention to that early on. This thread is about Jet & GH making derogatory comments in one of the (as Jet puts it) T&A threads. Nowt to do with the pic. And my comments (that you quoted) were referencing that, not that one picture.

Old Croc (and anyone else who cares to) - Have a good search through that thread you mentioned. You won't find a single pic posted by me. Not one (nor by Jet either, so I'm not sure who you're referring to??). In fact, you will only find 3 comments from me on there (& none from Jet, I believe). One says that, although I think many men are handsome, I can't think of any famous ones I find desirable. The other two are mentions of men I've thought of subsequently - Jon Bon Jovi & Antonio Banderas. Funnily enough, no pics & they're both older than me (not underage! Now there's a comment I've made twice previously & has been ignored twice... hmmm) Oooh, I lied. I also made a comment about John Cusack's acting abilities & said I liked the film "Grosse Point Blank".

FYI, more recently I started a thread on there about women celebrities we would like to look like. There are pics on that, too. Some ladies use words like "sexy" on that thread also. Does that add fuel to your idea of me being a hypocrite as well?

Chownah - for the record: I don't like that picture because to me it mocks the Muslim religion & women (not Muslim women, as I always assumed that the ones pictured were not Muslim women - just women.) The fact that you told me the picture was actually of men just made it seem more mocking, to me. It was nothing to do with the sex aspect of it. The legs showing was more tied in with the mocking or spoofing of women & their roles than with sex in my mind.

OK, TAWP. Thank you for starting this thread for us.

My views stand unchanged from what I said above and in the other thread -- perhaps you see it as mud amidst the smut, but you have to admit that I was not off topic. I find it amusing that Guesthouse "attacked" in the other thread (have not read it), but then even if he is only a man, he likely fulfilled his wet dream fantasies when he was a teen, and has obviously moved on to more intellectual pursuits.

Don't get me wrong, I think sex is an integral part of life. I just think it is an adolescent-type phobia to be fixated on looking at an ongoing parade of soft porn photos. Still, I guess it's cheaper and easier than buying a trench coat and sneaking into a triple X-rated theatre in your own neighbourhood.

With the exception of the Doris sub-forum, the whole site is duck :o

Have you seen Better Off Dead from his early days? Hilarious. :o

Handsome? Desirable? Now now now, that thought was sinful! Or are they adjectives for describing men's brains or souls?

And "sexy"? Don't even think of using it! Unless it is used for describing stomachs or livers which is underneath the surface of our body! Don't be shallow!

So 2 posters spoiled the fun of a group of fleshmongers(told you its better to be a veggie), and someone takes revenge.

Funny human beings.

OK, my face is ready for a smack! I did say sex was dirty and sinful, didn't I?

I also made a comment about John Cusack's acting abilities & said I liked the film "Grosse Point Blank".

Don't think I have. I'll have to keep an eye out for that one, thanks. :D

Wow, I didn't even realize that as a man, I was supposed to be moving on to somewhere! At what age should we start moving?

Sex is sinful. Sex is dirty. Sex is shallow.

Sex is sinful. Sex is dirty. Sex is shallow.

The first two are a sign that you're doing it correctly. For the third I suggest you try surgery or prosthetic devices.

I was at the urinal last night at a pub. And the farang standing next to me had a glance and said "you must have come from a very small country!"

So some people don't like looking at T&A threads. Cool, ya know what don't look if you don't like it and if you do post keep it on topic, i.e. T&A and the discussion thereof, as opposed to the high brow PC pseudo psycho analysis of the thread's contributors, that seems to be what this thread is for.

So with that in mind, the fact that some, myself included, will always appreciate the beautiful female form probably up until our last breath has nothing whatsoever to do with our maturity (whatever that is), more than anything it is a sign that our libidos are healthy and if anything are well rounded individuals.

To assume that because people may look at sexually appealing pictures, means their heads are ruled by their pants and that no control can be exerted the other way round (and thus want something more than we have etc )is sheer folly, have you considered that the voyeurs may actually choose to allow primal instincts to take control? Its not like we are a slave to these instincts.

It is good to be in touch with all aspects of one's self, so don't let your ego be your super ego's slave either, let your hair down once in a while, and get in touch with your id.

Balance is everything.

Firstly, I didn't say you had posted pictures on that thread, nor did I call anyone a hypocrite (That was for readers to summise or not). Secondly, I didn't mention the names of any posters. It seems you have placed yourself in the picture.

However, from your response above, it seems you have been hoist on your own petard (love using that phrase) so I will point out a discrepancy in your responses in the two threads in question. In one you are incensed, in the other you are in league! :o

Perhaps it's time for a bit of chill out with the misandronistic line you have been running lately NR. :D

My post in the T&A thread (and I'm glad everyone is using my T&A reference now) was on topic. This is this topic, now.

Yes. I love beautiful things, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as it has been said. Perhaps old men need the help of young women posing lavisciously so they can feel young again. "Dare I eat a peach?" they think, as they spittle and dribble and lament the youth lost that they try to reclaim with a nubile youngster at their side.

I must ask Old Croc, what does "misandronistic" mean?

"No misandronistic means hating men it's the symetric equivelent of misogynistic and is a good word for describing feminazis, if you don't mind sounding like a grandiloquent bombaster."

^ from some site on the net.

...well having read the first and lasty page of this thread, and having avoided the crumbs surrounding it, it seems that even Bedlam is suffering a terminal case of nuffink 'appening... Yawn.

(So who is going to suggest that I only tasted the bread and missed the beef?)

Sorry NR, it is you who needs to pay attention. Look at the quotes below. I specifically asked about who was offended with the piccie and you replied that you where. The rest of the conversation is below. Now you say your comments where about another thread :o

Have we had a sense of humour failure, on here today :D

I think we all need to press the "refresh" button at the top of the screen and start again!! :D

There has to be something funny first, I would guess anyway.

OK then but usually in here we make light hearted about almost anything.

Although i've seen the piccie many times (and yeah, not really funny) are people really offended by it?

Yes. Thinking about it, I am.

Why?

It's a bit of fun. Muslims DO have cartoons that take the pi55 out of the west and christians. But it's offensive to have a bit of a jibe at muslim women. Jeez

Mr BoJ - Think about it. I personally think Muslim women get one of the roughest deals on this planet. So, why would a jibe at them be funny? Choose someone that gets a bloody good deal out of life, ridicule them & I'll laugh along with you.

A provoking discussion in Bedlam originating from the TnA threads, for which we should be thankful. May they long live.

JetGordon,

You probably know this already but seem to have forgotten. Men's hormones are strongly affected by visual stimulus. One specific example is that a woman's body and especially a young woman's body has the visual characteristics which cause sexual excitement (to one degree or another) in men. It is a biological thing...it is not learned...it is not controllable to a great extent especially with many/most young men who have an abundance of hormones...it is not something that men request at birth.

I'm not joking....this is reality. I'm not trying to justify all of what comes out of this hormonal reaction and for me it is indeed sad when I meet men who are so overwhelmed by this hormonal reaction that they don't see women as people.....but I really do think that this aspect of men's lives is often either overlooked or not fully appreciated by many women some times.

Chownah

when I meet men who are so overwhelmed by this hormonal reaction that they don't see women as people...

Yeah right. Your gonna tell us next that women have brains and feelings and don't have staples in their belly buttons and......

Steady on girls, only joking :D I know you don't have staples in your belly buttons :o

Golly! Controversy in Bedlam. Who would have thought it.......whatever next?
