I have not seen a TM6 that we used to fill out on the planes for years! So what is this? ETA is a damn joke and is totally not necessary! Can Thailand please stop all this visa confusing BS and keep things steady for a while! This confusion makes me sick and wanting to change destination! There are millions of people that always shy away from PC's, so I am sure Thailand will LOSE tourists instead of gaining! And why the desperation to have tourists?? Sounds like they soon are willing to sell the country for a few dollars!!🤮

Selling? except if you are a foreigner then you can't really own it , maybe 49.9 percent only with a Thai as the REAL owner.

What purpose does the TM 6 serve ?

What are they supposed to do ?

It helps them keep track of you. The last few times I crossed back to Chiang Khong from Laos, they asked many questions like "why did you write Moo 1 and not a soi name or Moobaan name for your address?" I had to explain where I lived and the IO made notes in the computer.

Oh come on! I can't believe they plan to bring it back anyway. Manually filling out an arrival card? It's not 1980.

In Thailand it's still closer to 1960 in many, many ways !

Stimulate tourism? How much more do they want?

When is enough, enough?

it's never enough. I posted something a while back in regard to tourism and the GNP. it seems at the moment the government has hit a wall on to stimulate a stagnant economy. tourism seems to be their only golden goose at the moment so therefore all the eggs are piling up in one basket.

Upon registration, tourists will receive a QR code, allowing them to pass through automated immigration gates seamlessly.

Unless you've been flagged as non-cooperative (aka antisocial) as regards the latest vackseen requirement. Munkey pocks anyone?

But if you do a land crossing the TM6 is still given to you.

It depends on the land crossing you use. The TM.6 requirement has been suspended only at 16 major land and sea entry points.

Hong Kong dropped its paper form in the last few days citing a possible tourism boost as one of the reasons for doing so.

I don't mind the electronic forms but it would be nice if they were relatively standard between countries allowing automatic pre-fill.

Singapore's form is relatively painless whereas Malaysia's is a bit more cumbersome. Indonesia with its separate customs declaration is over the top

Every few months it is just a confusing litany of rollouts and rollbacks of one thing or another. As soon as you get your head around something they move the goalposts. I for one am getting thoroughly sick of swotting up on all the nuances of the Thai visa systems. I really wish they would leave well enough alone. If it ain't broke.....

There are a few things broken in this Banana Republic where Immigration is concerned, unnecessary 90 day reporting, different IO's, different rules always changing depending on what immigration officer or office you are dealing with etc, etc, etc.

Give a Thai a uniform and authority and ----------.

Why the negativity re the ETA? The whole world seems to be moving in this direction. Can you imagine the manual work required in processing the TM6 when all this will be processed electronically through the ETA.

It's the future of travel and we have to learn to live with it.

Ur right.ETA will be the new standard worldwide.I see that in the news in Europe.
