Sick and tired
We're on the same page regarding BRICS. Virtually nobody knows what the acronym even stands for, and those that do have no comprehension of the threat to USD hegemony. It's a bit like bitcoin - nobody understood it until it smacked the economic world in the face - basically overnight. People also forget that empires disappear somewhat rapidly, and the ruling class never see it coming. Let them eat cake. When the US sanctioned and eventually stole the Russian gold and foreign reserves, the BRICS organisation put the pedal to the metal. They've been around since 2015 (arguably 2009) but didn't make much of a wave. Now they have everything in place to rival SWIFT and the USD. Their summit next weekend will probably formally announce the Unit and its gold backing of 40%. So what will the FED do? Default - unlikely. QE and inflate - probably. Or here's a wild card - revalue gold to 150k an ounce to balance the books. Should have done that two years ago before the sanctions - that would have really put the brakes on the BRICS rapid development. But now the BRICS members have all the gold - whoops Either way, the BRICS train is coming and the G7 are just a deer in the headlights. -

I keep coming back to try and understand why some countries regard credit card transactions as potentially assessable and why they should be, but as Gant asks, why loans are not. The possibilities I see are: - the place where the transaction takes place is a key factor in forming the contract - credit card operations are seen as a service and it is that which distinguishes it from pure lending. - the sheer volume of credit card transactions and card holders makes them a more probable vehicle to try and escape tax, particularly in tourism oriented economies, which is why some Revenue Departments feel they must be included. - loans are equally as assessable but significantly rarer. Ultimately, I agree it is the source of the funds used to pay the bill, credit card or loan, that will determine assessability but the ratio of the two must be phenomenally high. For every foreigner who takes out an overseas loan to buy property here, there must be millions of people making credit card transactions using foreign cards where the bill is paid for using tax assessable income. As far as I know he is since years accused of those crimes. But it seems the authorities don't have any or enough evidence to convict him. He might be guilty, but maybe he is not. Just the fact that he is an ahole doesn't make him guilty.- 1

I am not a Sexpat. But I still comment on above. Coffeezilla exposed a couple of scams. He seems to be the good guy. But I don't follow everything he does. Andrew Tate wouldn't be as successful as he is if he wouldn't tell some truth. But obviously he is also a scammer with too many stupid followers. Will anything that Coffeezilla might expose hurt Andrew Tate? I have my doubts. It's about the same as if someone exposes another lie from Trump. His supporters just don't care. -

US Visa for Thai Citizen - Do they have an Undisclosed Quota.
The US starts by assuming that you will stay in the US permanently, and it's up to you to prove otherwise by showing strong ties to your home country. An unmarried British partner doesn't help with that. The US does not consider defacto relationships when issuing visas. The British partner and his assets are at best meaningless to her visa application. As a single woman she will need to qualify for the visa on her own. -

Not the point at all. He's a hardened criminal involved with human trafficking, rape and organized crime. He's now under house arrest in Romania pending the outcome of some criminal charges that have been swirling around in the courts there for well over a year. They have also confiscated lots of his assets, particularly a whole fleet of luxury exotic and supercars. Meanwhile, he's now moved on to crypto scams. So anything that helps to expose his criminality (like the above video) may eventually help to stop this maggot one day. He's a really nasty piece of work and so is his brother. -

Americans say goodbye to more brands - Surprising Closures
Shopping online, ordering food online, working from home... slowly but surely, we humans are getting back into our caves with our phones & computers. Socializing will be something rare, and relationships & friendships will be something foreign. We will ultimately view each other with suspicion and distrust. The cost of development & changing of time will be very dear, IMHO. -
