Do Jewish People Have High IQ?

I have always wondered about the IQ of the Jewish people, from starting banking generations ago when there was no such thing, now basically running the US banking system, and also the high percentage of Chess champions (almost a third are of Jewish ancestry).

 

I know from friends I have had, they are smart, extremely so, when it comes to money!

    Judaism requires Jews to send their first born Child to higher education/University and its been that way for 1000's of years .

   Jewish families who couldn't afford to send their Child to University dropped out of the Religion and became a Palestinian .

   So Palestinians are (former) Jews who were not successful enough to continue being Jewish . 

   Culling the herd to make it stronger , the weakest drop out

There are many people who say (and can prove) that they were fully aware of the massacre of some 1200 Israeli's that took place, way before it did.

 

They did nothing to stop it, because it gave them a viable "reason" to eliminate Palestine.

Following below are some points from the links provided above. Also, all of this is referring to Ashkenazi Jews, also often referred to as European Jews, many of whom emigrated from Northern Europe (Germany, Poland, Russia) to either the USA, the UK or Israel either just before or during WW2.

Indeed they were restricted to very few professions. In other words, extreme oppression.

Among Jews the most popular answer to who is a Jew is simply a person born of a Jewish mother (in the matrilineal tribal sense). Following the faith or not doesn't come into it.

Sephardic jews in Europe are quite different from Ashkenazi, but yes, they are very ___________. My most favorite are in France. Smart, intelligent and super supportive, like relatives. The smartest (IMO) are Dutch Jews. No matter where - Bangkok, AMS or Berlin - you can notice them

The jews do not run the  US banking system. They never have, and have in fact were historically blocked from senior positions in the banking industry. Obviously you are unaware of the nature of banking in the USA, since most of the multi-state  banks in the USA are publicly owned, which means ownership by the general public, by pension and investment funds. 

 

Historically, the most accomplished  jewish people have come from cultures which encouraged everyone to achieve.  One of the reasons why so many jewish scientists were European  nationalities was because there were advanced universities that they could attend, albeit subject to quotas. The Middle east did not have a culture of education  and advancement. Israel has invested heavily in its educational system. It is a lesson now copied by several  Gulf States. The Iranians too had a tradition of education, but that ended with the creation of the Islamic Republic. 

 

Science does not do well in a vacuum, Many brilliant scientists are also gifted musicians and artists. Cultures which do not value music or art do not advance. They stagnate and regress. The European Renaissance was a time of new ideas both in science and the arts. The Islamic world still awaits such a change in its culture.

 

The jews who have come  from cultures where freedom and opportunity is respected and  enabled, have  flourished. It is why they super achieved once they arrived in the USA and to a lesser extent Canada, South Africa and Australia. In the USA, despite the inherent prejudice, they were free of the oppressive bigotry of Europe and had opportunities.

Cultures which encourage fun and personal happiness enable scientific brilliance and western culture does this.

In order to evaluate 'high IQ' among populations you should only look at those who have what is regarded as 'high IQ'

Take away everyone with less than 2 standard deviations higher than the norm (~130) and then compare the ratios.

Ignoring anyone with lower scores. Good luck with getting access to those figures.
